Hidden charges - expensive poor quality cars

- - Insurance was $46 per day and not optional.
- - Car was old with 75,000 km and no reply after 4 weeks.
Yes I have sent America Car Rental several emails they initially gave me a reference number 00024562 - but have not responded further
I rented a car from America Car Rental in Villahermosa, Mexico. Car rental was very cheap only $3.50 a day but insurance charge was $46 a day and i had no choice but to pay it. They would not accept my international insurance although it was accepted in the USA.
The car itself was old and battered and had done 75,000 km.
Submitted a complaint via their website and have not received a reply after more than 4wks !!
America car rental should be avoided in my opinion

They don’t respect reservations made through third parties
- - Told to call after landing for pickup.
- - No cars available until 2 days later; upgrade or cancel.
- - I will not use America Car again.
I received a call from America Car a few hours before pick up time and they instructed me to call them once I landed so that they can send a driver to the airport and pick us up. So we get to the airport grab our luggage and called America Car it turns out no cars available until 2 days later or upgrade and pay extra for a truck, rent from another company or cancel.
This was mentioned 40 minutes later after waiting outside of the airport only because I called back asking what was taking them so long. It was a caos and I will never again use America Car
User's recommendation: If you rent a car on line thru third Party DO NOT add insurance, You pay for insurance again when you pick up the vehicle
