Been a customer since 2007, my renewal plan was supposed to be the same. They raised my rates by 66%. My august bill was $346.00 and used more energy in august than september, september bill was $546.00. Customer service is located in another country and you will be on hold for at least 45 mins to an hour. Ambit has been bought and sold like a used car, like most other electric providers. Consumer be aware of all electricity providers.

Getting Screwed Over By Ambit Energy

I have a 2400 sq ft home that uses on average 4000kwh per month, I have been a loyal customer for 5 years and have always averaged $270 - $300 per month. I just received a bill for $1,020.00 for only 1 month of usage! This is ridiculous! I called them to obviously get this corrected. Shanon heard me out and was no help what so ever! she explained that the rates went up and that would have to pay that crazy bill !oh and yea she even offered to break the bill into payments.. or offer me a 10% discount! That is bull>

Worst Customer Service EVER!!!

Three customer service representatives simply put me on hold for a long time because they did not want to work with me. They also charge fees for every little thing. Their pricing is much higher than the competition in Houston, Texas. Do NOT USE AMBIT ENERGY!! Ambit Energy is the absolute worst!!

As I type this I have been on hold with Ambit for 29 minutes. I called earlier today and gave up after 18 minutes. I did that thing where you can have them call you back and they did- right away, but the person's accent was impossible to understand so he put me on hold....and, here I sit with no resolution to my problem.

I was approached by an ambit consultant who promised lower energy rate. Sixteen days later, my Ambit Energy bill was 3X higher than reliant energy. I will pay them the amount that I signed up for but no more than that. This is a valuable life lesson.

i paid bill and expect my services to be turned when paid by credit card. If you turn off for non payment it should be where if i pay you what i owe along with disconnection fee my services should be turned on. It was a hot day and my food is now no good. Poor service and Im not happy. Plus your online payment is horrible. It kept telling me oops sorry something went wrong like twice . Third time it took payment but with no confirmation. You need to work on your online payment tool its not even customer friendly nor does it work properly. As state online electronic checks take 2-5 business days to process. If i pay you by credit card funds are available immediately and my services should be turned on. I called and i was told give it a few hours. That never happened and the next day at 8 am was still off. That's when your office opens. Poor and disappointing service. Fix your poor customer service AND your online payment system. During Hot weather season this should be handled promptly, unless you don't care about your customers. You shut off for non payment, you should turn on when paid in full. Hope this never happens again.

Bad service. They could care less if they put you on hold forever.

How about hiring more telephone reps so the hold time is less. You are raking in the money, that's for sure.

i HAVE BEEN LIVING IN A 1 BED ROOM Apartment for over 2 years and my energy bill for the last 4 months has been humungous. Last month $232 and after complaining many times again $232 and before that $175.

I can't understand why people live here paying so much for energy.

I am going to move and will never recommend Ambit Energy to anyone. I plan to caution anyone that will listen

Disconnection Notice after transfer and approval

Good afternoon, I’ll like to file a huge complaint!!! I decided about two weeks ago to transfer my service for Reliant to Ambit Energy for a more affordable bill, got approved with a $70 deposit that was paid the same day.

Here’s about two weeks later I get a envelope that I thought was a bill and it’s a disconnection notice stating I had a bill years ago from another address in the amount of $368.43 that I do not remember at all, my question is when the credit check was completed with my social why wasn’t I told of a past due balance plus small deposit and usually when u have a pass due balance he deposit is much more.

Why will you guys approve me and then switch my lights now a threat to disconnect lights on 03/18/2019 and I just transferred services around two weeks ago?? Very unprofessional, sad and stressful!

I had two bills, January & February that were around $1000.00 and shut my heat off and froze the month of March and my bill was still $ 685.00. i called and asked and get the run around. I quit Ambit !

Ridiculous increase in billing this past year

I have been with a bit for more than 10years. I have always been pleased with my rate. I have e en recommended them to friends. Over the past year and a half my billing has been ridiculous high. The oncor charge is so inconsistent and impossible to figure out. The fluctuation in that fee alone can be as much as $80-$100 per month regardless of the kw useage. I have researched the how, what and why’s of the oncor charges. Reaching the conclusion that Ambit gets to determine this charge based on the energy they anticipate you will use for the upcoming 12 months. So december’s Christmas lights more than likely will be kicking your *** long after you have taken them down. What happens if we don’t use what THEY ANTICIPATED we will? My guess is they take a LUXURIOUS VACATION USING THE TRAVEL POINT JOKE FUND. I HAVENT EVEN BOTHERED CONTACTING CUSTOMER SERVICE. Why? I will be quitting them ASAP.

Too many charges, i feel robbed

I sign up for ambit energy like 7 years ago through a word of mouth of a friend, I always do auto payment in most of my billing, no question. Lately my bills getting bigger for no apparent reason. Then, I had to check all my bills for the past one year, what I found is more than horrible! I have been robbed! I saw a lot of charges under different name, they don't have to inform me before they introduce some charges. At some point I started asking: Am I paying to Oncor or Ambit energy? who is Oncor? Did I sign up to Oncor? what is going on? Then monthly payment of $10 is more ridiculous, what is different btw TDU delivery charges Monthly and per KW/h. energy efficiency cost factor, delivery rate increases etc, then you have multiple taxes and other charges, some for Oncor I guess and of course ambit energy. What is other charges? what does it connote? I honestly cannot understand this company. I need to do the needful ASAP before they milk me dry. I will never recommend you! But you can give me a good explanation to these aforementioned issues, I will be fine!
