Amazon Ticket sales-shocking & double charging bewarned

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Amazon Ticket sales. Also called Amazon Local.

Dreadful. Had a technical issue which they completely deny. 2 charges for a single pair of tickets. Refused refund despite calling with 5 mins of receiving email confirmation.

Admitted it was odd as same seats all located to both purchases. Call centres in India with hopeless English. UK office again refused refund and referred to them being Amazon branded "ticket touts". Wrong as under distance selling rules automatic right to refund.

Furthermore went to HSBC to cancel second payment, and the same had happened to a member of staff there and he said was not the only customer who'd had issues with Amazon payments in the last week. Really sorry but avoid Amazon, particularly the concert ticket sales part.

Generally I find HMV cheaper, better and nicer to deal with when buying records. Edit

Exactly the same here. Just been on the phone requesting refund on one pair of tickets as have paid for two, possibly in error, but i think it was a technical issue with the website. Am waiting on a call back from a manager, however, am not feeling optimistic, having read reams of negative comments.

Changed seating and collection method

After tickets being booked for 5 months, within a week of the show Amazon sent an email changing the location and the category of seating and requested I pick up the tickets rather than having them sent through the post. Their only claim was that this was due to unforeseen circumstances.

Unforeseen at the Royal Albert hall??!!!

Don’t think so. A disgrace!!!!!

Amozon tickets.com gives out your credit card info.

I recently ordered tickets to a concert from them (ridiculously over-priced) and only bought them since the concert is from a group that gets together only occasionaly and are very special to my wife. Well ,I never give out my credit card info.

and do absolutly no other finacial transactions online so as not to put myself at risk. Anyway ,I CALLED Amazon tickets and spoke to one of their reps.and handled the whole transaction on a land-line. They gave my info to a company in Florida w/this #1-86*-379-****. Google this # and see what a nightmare this becomes.

I have not done any other transactions w/the credit card since. I would highly recommend against using this company.

Rip off - 3 tickets service fee- $120

I purchased 3 tickets to chow Wicked at he Fox. Went to Ticketmaster.

Ticketmaster did not have 3 good ones for when I wanted to go. So I went to the official Wicked site and found 3 together on the 4th row in center orchestra section. The price shown was $216 each. When I went thru to put in order, They show an overpriced service charge of $39 each.

Then i had to select either a $15 or $25 delivery charge.

I received the pkg today with a printed invoice - which could have been emailed and another charge of $63 for tax.

I basically bought another ticket [ $208 in fees] - i will never recommend this company. Ticket master is expensive but not a rip off!

Amazon Tickets And Events: Charged me more than double the price for tickets...

I purchased 3 tickets from Amazon Tickets and Events online for the WWE wrestling event on Tuesday September 14, 2010. When you click on "charge" for tickets and their website pops up you better shut your computer down and reboot a.s.a.p.

They give the term of being a used car salesman someone to be trusted. They scammed me for more than double the price you can get at TicketMaster. Please whatever you do, Do Not solicit from Amazon Tickets and Events.

I payed a total of $73.00 each for 3 tickets and their were people who sat three rows in front of me who payed less than $40.00 per ticket through TicketMaster. Highly Pissed Off!!

Rcoman: It's clear you do not understand the nature of the secondary ticket industry. Tickets are sold through a primary seller and most of the time it is TicketMaster or LiveNation.

There is a "face" value on the ticket and TM or LN charges a service fee for using their site. Tickets end up on the secondary market for many reasons - individuals and brokers speculate on ticket values, people who want to go can't for some reason, etc. These tickets end up on the secondary market. Some of the time, prices are more than the face.

Some of the time, prices are below face. I've seen tickets sell for 10x their face value and I've seen $125 football tickets sell for $1 a piece (preseason). It all depends on the market demand. The "people in front of you" that paid $40 probably knew the date the tickets went on sale and took what was available.

You likely bought your tickets after the event had already sold out. But in addition to making tickets available, the secondary market also allows the buyer to chose where they sit - unlike TM that uses a system that generates what they think is the best seat for you. The secondary is all about options.

If you don't ilke the prices, don't buy. Like all sites on the secondary market, Amazon Tickets and Events clearly says many times "We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue."

FYI - I'm not with Amazon T&E.

I buy from them frequently, and I feel like I get good deals. I do my research first to find out where I can get the best price on the tickets I want and then I buy them.

Usually Amazon Tickets is the cheapest.

Sounds like you didn't do your research first. That's your fault not theirs.
