Consumers are not pleased with Discounts and Special Offers and Diversity of Products or Services. The price level of this organization is high according to consumer reviews.
BEWARE
Poor experience, do not sign. Received the minimum at service calls, basically a 5 min exterior walk around.
Did not approach, my fault. I do not recommend.
I called to complain and cancel my service agreement due to poor results. Company response was to report the account to a credit service.
Alterra will rip you off - Don't fall for it
They sign you up. Do a couple of quarterly services OK.
The service level then falls off. Not sure whether they spray or not, but they do not clean up spider webs as they said they would. When they fail to provide adequate service, they make it extremely difficult if not impossible, to cancel their service. I have used email, written cancellation notes on my bill payment, and phone calls.
They continue to make visits to my property, without doing much of anything that I can tell, and then bill me, even after I told them NOT to come to my property. I started trying to cancel in early November. It is now the end of December, and I have another bill from them, with a late fee. I called to cancel at 8:35am this morning.
Was told that the DC office would call me back within 2 hours to confirm - which is also a ruse.
Now, at 11am, they have not yet called me to confirm cancellation -- no surprise. Next stop is BBB, Angie's List, state and local consumer affairs offices, the media, and a lawyer.

We have tried to cancel are month to month service more than once and still being billed. One time a serviceman came to the door and we said we have cancelled the service we do not need this done.
He went back to the office and said he serviced our house. When we called for an explanation on the next month's bill they said they would reimburse us and instead we got another bill.

this is a horrible company to work with. I gave specific instructions to the sales representative when he came to sell us the service.
I advised that someone had to be home to open the back gate due to us having 2 large dogs. the 1st treatment was fine I was there. 2nd treatment the person never showed up. I lost my day at work waiting for them.
then months later I received a collection call statement that I owed them $96 for the quarterly serves which no one did. I called the local office here in Humble and was told that tech was let go because he lied and didn't show up to his appointments. I should have just cancelled at that time, but I was trying to be good. Told the branch manager that I wanted to be services.
stated that someone would call and schedule. Today 10/11/2016 I received a phone call from a collection agency stating that I owed Alltera Pest Control. I called the office, spoke with manager, states they went out to my home in May at 8:45am. I told him that I didn't get anything to tell me they were there.
I acutally flagged down another company that does our neighbors and paid them to come and treat my house and year for fleas. I offered to send him a copy of their invoice so he could see that I was not lying. He stated that no one has to be there. So then I asked him how about a bill.
I hadn't received anything from them. He transferred me back to the receptionist, I asked her for the phone number of the corporate office to file a complaint, she didn't have that information available to give me. I asked her to fax me a copy of the invoice, stated she didn't have one, they use a 3rd party service company to send out invoices/bills. I told her to call them and request a copy of mine, she stated she didn't have a phone number for this company.
She's going to fax me a copy of the service slip.
I asked to cancel the service and they want me to pay my last quarterly bill to get me out of the contract.

Don't buy into their "SMARTER approach" nonsense.
Used them for about a year. As far as their service is concerned, they are....ok. Depends on the person who shows up to spray. Don't buy into their "SMARTER approach" nonsense. They are the same as any other pest control company. They use the same business practices, the same chemicals, the same approach to pest control. There's nothing special about Alterra.
The problem I've got with these guys is their LACK of customer service. When I first started working with them, I asked that they never just setup a service date without talking to me first, as I wanted to opportunity to let them in the house to spray the garage and the unfinished portion of my basement. Far as I'm concerned, the job isn't done unless those sections are being properly sprayed.
After failing to do that any of the four times, I told them I would stop paying until they came back to spray my garage and basement. After emailing their customer service several times, instead of setting up a respray date, they sent me to collections. Clearly, I'm too difficult of a customer for them.

Refuse to Refund - Horrible Service
The last straw after a year of sub-par service for me with this company is when they didn't clear the cobwebs from my porch on their last visit. While this seems like a small issue, it is a service that is part of their service and that I pay for.
When I contacted them to come out to re do their service, it took over a MONTH for a return email and only after I left messages at their local and national offices and their parent company Terminix.
When I asked for a refund, they refuse to give me one. What kind of business refuses to give you a refund when they fail on their service?
Stay away from this company. They don't do good work, have horrible customer service and do not stand behind their services.

Beem custmer almost 20 yrs two homes
Had home inspected a month ago decided to refinance. Terminix said 125.00 for a wdo .Arrow there competitor 40.00 really they should provide one free. I pay 180 amonth at one house 350 a year at another and they would not do it Free PPCS
*** poor customer service.

I do not typically write reviews. But, unfortunately this company has the worst customer service and I'm extremely fed up. They basically scammed us out of money. They claimed to offer "free call back treatments" if you have to call them in between the quarterly treatments, yea... They NEVER showed up. Made two appts and they no call no showed. After that.. I couldn't get anyone on the phone. Left multiple voicemails.. Nothing.
Then we received a letter stating their company had been bought out and our contract would be fulfilled by another pest control company. At that point, I tried calling the new company to see about getting the service that we'd been asking for but they had NO RECORD of this so called merger. I tried a couple more times just in case the paper work just hadn't been transferred over yet, nothing. So at that point I called Alterra.. And left multiple voicemails again... No surprisingly, with no success.
Out of the blue, we got a notice stating someone from ALTERRA came by and completed our "quarterly" service... A month late! And then I received an email from them regarding the charge taking place. I used the Customer service email that was in that message... Wrote a very detailed email regarding my disappointment in them. And yet again NO RESPONSE! I had to call again, threaten to contact the BBB.. And then finally received a call from them. When I spoke to the representative she made excuses about how they were "only one month off schedule" (WHERE'S THE COMMUNICATION?) and that they wouldn't refund my last payment of $99 even though they have NOT fulfilled their end of the written contract. She said that if she refunded the $99, then they'd charge me $150 for "breaking the contract". After asking to speak to a manager, she said she'd have him call me... And here we are a week later. NO CALL!!!
This is a horrible company and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. You want to hold someone to their contract, yet not hold up your end by simply providing good customer service??? Making a return phone call, actually showing up to an appt... I mean come on! This is customer service 101. Obviously your associates need better training!
Alterra Pest Control in Anaheim CA - Both Dishonest and Unreliable
Alterra Pest Control out of Anaheim California is a scam, plain and simple.
Their bright eyed and well-spoken door to door salesperson convinced us that it would be $99 a year, which gave us pest control sprays every 3 months.
Sounded like a good deal. Unfortunately I didn't read the small print. It was not $99 per year, but rather $99 every 3 months. And you committed to a full year of it with your signature.
To make matters worse, they consistently no-show after wasting our time waiting at home for an appointment with their pest control specialist.
Infuriating. Stay far, far, FAR away from Alterra Pest Control out of Anaheim CA.

They schedule an appt on Saturdays, don't show up and charge anyway
I sold my house 5/23/16, and had my final pest control scheduled by them late April. They didn't show up.
Since I sold the house and they can no longer service it, they are charging me an early termination fee.
Don't use this company.
Even after all of this, they kept auto scheduling appointments from May to July of 2016 and I had to keep calling them back telling them not to go to the house because I don't own it any longer and I wouldn't be responsible for them accessing property illegally. Now they have sent me a bill for an early termination fee of 130.00

Charging me without service
I signed the contract by the compelling Sales person. I have been paying $89 for the past 3 quarters without any service.
I realized when they asked them to do service inside my home.I stayed at home all day and saw no one turned up. I am seeing the bill next week that service was performed. This has been happening for the past few times where they did not service inside my home and they are charging me claiming that service is done outside.
Alterra is total scam,please stay away from this company. Stay away from any Sales person as promises by Sales person has no value .Customer service is rude too.

Came door to door. Very polite and well-spoken young lady sold me on a plan that she said was $99 a year, which was to include a visit every 3 months. Shame on us we didn't read the small print on the contract she had us sign. Turns out it was $99 every 3 months for minimum of a year.
Even worse? They don't come every 3 months. Call to complain and the "customer service" reps are arrogant and uncaring. There should be some sort of class action lawsuit against their blatant lies.
What baffles me is why they would lie about it. Pest control is something most households would gladly buy without the need to deceive.

Over the summer last year, a door to door Alterra pest control sales man came by my house selling services. I was planning to contact pest control companies due to the # of ants inside house and Spiders outside.
I wasn't a hard sale. It bothered me that they had the visits pre-arranged in advance. Example: visit in May, follow-up in June. Another in August, next October then in January last in April.
The October and January visits are a total rip-off. They don't do anything. I take that back, they actually didn't do anything for any visit. Just the first visit and perhaps another that I initiated between service times.
All the rest of the visits are bogus.
This company is set up to just charge your credit card. Don't use Alterra pest control

We are going through the same thing. We cancelled last summer, they showed up, billed us, we didn't pay the bill..
they turned us over to collections....we resolved ... and now they are doing it again. Last week, they scheduled to come today via e-mail..i called and cancelled and emailed and cancelled and even received a return call acknowledging my voice mail.
They still showed up this morning. They are ridiculous
