Alside Windows will not honor Warranty
Update to December 2018 review. No word from Alside. In December I resent all the paperwork previously sent and I sent pictures (see pictures). I have done all I can but Alside Windows is still not helping.
I first contacted them last July and they have been dragging their feet. They wanted "product verification" and I resent proof of purchase, pictures, contractor info - all the info that is stated in the Warranty as being needed for a claim. Then they wanted serial numbers but it seems I would have to take my window out of the wall and hope I can find a serial number. Serial numbers are not mentioned in the Warranty by the way.
All I want is a replacement so I can see out the window.
Do not buy Alside Windows! Find a window company that actually honors their Warranty.

Preferred solution: Replace the defective window.
Broken Seal
I bought a set of Alside windows from a building supply closeout place about 12 years ago. The window frames, sashes and parts have worked fine.
My only problem are the seals on the thermal pane glass. I replaced 2 of the sashes about 5 years ago and they went bad again. I’ve also had 3 of the glass panes crack for no apparent reason. These windows were set in wood frames with nailing flanges for 6” thick walls for new construction which I believe was from the factory.
I’m a remodeling contractor and have been in the business for 40 years. I’ve installed a lot of replacement and new construction windows through the years and have never seen this many bad seals. I have a total of 31 window sashes from these Alside windows. Right know I have 16 that need replaced plus the 2 I already replaced.
I did talk to a local distributor and they offered to give me the new sashes for half price but I’m going to buy the thermal panes from my local glass company and install them into the existing frames just to avoid another issue. I’m only posting this to let others know I would not recommend Alside windows. The pic of the transom window just shattered the other night while my wife and I were sleeping. No idea what would cause that.
There are no signs of the pane binding up in the frame and no sign of anything hitting it. I also added a pic of another one that shattered. I just assumed something hit it but it is in a cupolas three stories up facing another roof.
After finding this site and reading all the bad reviews I’m surprise Alside is still in business. Their siding products, which I use, must be carrying them.
Preferred solution: Just a bad review in hopes they will fix the issue in the future.

Looks like the siding was nailed too tight. Was the siding contractor VSI certified?
