Bad Experience With Allied Moving Services

Moving my goods from Victoria up to the Sunshine Coast should have been a simple moved from Bendigo upwards. Instead my 15 cartons & 4 suitcases were delivered and sent on from Melb to 8 other depots!

On final delivery to my permanent address, (rentals were hard to get), the 15 cartons arrived looking well & truly travelled & bashed about! But my 4 suitcases of clothing were missing. So since they got picked up in rural Victoria on 23/05/23, there has been no sighting of them in Maroochydore where the goods were kept until an address was given.

These 4 suitcases were full of clothing & personal items, including gifts from my mother who had passed away.

I had good quality clothing that had been looked after, along with new items of clothing not yet worn. All very important & valuable to me personally.

I still have not had them turn up over a year later.

Allied Moving Services has told me they looked in all the depots, checked some storage sheds as it's obvious that a mistake had mislaid my suitcases somewhere.

Or simply they had been stolen!

I got a reply from my main contact, saying "He hoped that wasn't the case".

But it seems on talking to so many others about my missing suitcases that it has happened too often with many removal companies.

Regardless if we had insurance or not, no amount of money replaces special items dear to us or the exact value enclosed.

So as of today, 1st October '24, my four suitcases remain "lost".

I've had no written apology nor proper offer of compensation. Its like they don't want to know!

A CEO contacted me after many emails & bad reviews I had put online, (go you blame me!?), offering $500 as an ex gratia!

Meaning they will not take responsibility of any lost goods! Stolen or otherwise!

So I sent a reply to say thank you, but refused the payment.

I wasn't impressed.

$500 is nothing to Allied Pickford's Logistics Pty Ltd, a multi million dollar company!

The Australian Movers Association mentioned to me that Allied should really have compensated me for my full moving service fee as well as a decent offer of compensation.

Makes you think doesn't it!?

Cost of lost goods going over many years does mount up!

Allied Logistics Pty Ltd obviously don't care!

My consignment has reached but most of the glass stuff has come broken

RP# 187199 Lot of the glass items received in the consignment have come broken . It was not well packed from HK and on the way have been damaged .

Though the insurance was not take , I think there would be some way to get some reimbursement on the damages. For me if I have handed over stuff it should have been well packed and handed over to me here .

If not than Allied takes the responsibility of the same . Hope to hear from you on the same .
