When my OBGYN called to check benifits everything was ok, surgery took place and we were hit with a TOTAL COST BILL! Insurance stating I was not insured. Same situation with my periodantal surgery.
Monica whom sold the insurance to my husbands employer is a crook! No help and full of lies.
- To many to list
Fraudulent Allied National Health Insurance
Do NOT get insurance through this company. They do NOT disclose the truth about your policy or provisions.
Their salesmen lie, and their customer service is rude and stonewalls. They approved a female surgery in June. My hospital and doctor got approval and now they have denied 6 months worth of bills. close to 30,000!!!
They had not been paying bills since February to my Dr., instead when the doctor office calls they tell them they need information from me. Then when I call they tell me I gave them all they need that they were waiting on a 3rd party to review medical records. (Something they didn't disclose to me for months when Id call) If they had said they were waiting all these months on a medical record review I would've waited to get the surgery or not done it all until they made a determination. I even have email records where I told them that.
The hospital themselves wouldn't have allowed the surgery if the insurance had disclosed this information. They stonewalled me and the doctor until they found a way not to pay claims. Every letter I have is a "claim status statement" none say pending review of medical records, or preexisting conditions.
No EOB's denying claims until now! I have contacted a lawyer, the insurance commission, am filing an appeal, and will fight them until I die if I have to.
I feel I had a bait and switch in getting my health insurance policy.
I talked at length and e-mailed the agent several times in getting me on this policy. At first I had agreed to a $2,500 deductable with 100% coverage/payment following.
But when I got the policy, it was a $2,500 deductable and 80/20% plan. I contacted the agent about this and she said I needed to contact the insurance company to correct the 80/20. I did, by way of phone and e-mail (twice each), but they NEVER corrected this. I also had SEVERAL "Optional Benefits" that could be cancelled if I didn't want them.
Again I contacted by phone and e-mail (twice each). Nothing was done by them. THEN, I had 2 emergency room encounters over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend, 2017. Two different hospitals over two different days.
For Kidney stones. Following that, I was hospitalized on the second ER visit. A stent was inserted for pain relief. 2 weeks later, I had the kidney stones blasted at the second hospital as an out-patient.
THAT WAS WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT ALLIED NATIONAL WAS NOT INTENDING ON PAYING FOR MUCH OF THIS. BETWEEN THE TWO HOSPITALS AND ER ROOMS, AND THE SUBSESEQUENT SURGERY, my hospital and doctor charges amounted to just about $45,000. Allied National, paid the very Minimum in actual money, and the bills were reduced by way of "adjustments" leaving me with a MERE $4,900 owed to the first hospital and ONLY $28,460 owed to the second hospital. When i called to complain, the Allied National customer service lady only said, "You should have read your certificate closer".
No, I feel they should look at the maximum $ out of pocket, part of their policy. What is the point of having a $2,500 deductable and $2,000 maximum after deductable, if that is not what they provide?
- Not covering expenses i was led to believe would be by the agent
Preferred solution: Honor the $2,500 deductalbe and $2,000 after deductable maximum out of pocket as submitted by the insurance agent, and the full color brochures description..
Denied claim
If you are reading this and have been burned by Allied National. MAKE SURE YOU FILE A COMPLAINT AT THE BBB, see my story below.
https://www.bbb.org/kansas-city/business-reviews/employee-benefit-plans/allied-national-inc-in-overland-park-ks-9706****/reviews-and-complaints?section=complaints My story below, I pay monthly premiums for health insurance for my self and family.. My son injured his knee playing in a high school baseball game, we went immediately to the orthopedic. The Dr said he needs surgery on his knee right away. I am not to fond of surgery so we got a 2nd opinion same outcome.
The surgeon sent in the paperwork to schedule the surgery.... Allied national denied the claim.... Tried calling them several times. On hold to just get cut off or hung up on.
Did a google search on reviews for this health insurance company and shame on me for putting my families health in this companies hands....

Allied National Health Insurance Review
You suck, if I had the money unwound get a lawyer to sue you. You didn't cover the simplist things and I paid more than you did on any of my claims. Never once did allied national cover even half of my claim.

I'm getting to fight Allied National. They have treated me horribly and gave me the run around for a year only to deny this claim. If someone has an open lawsuit against this company please contact me at cmooregirl@***.com.
