TOTAL SCAMMERS!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!

In January of this year, 2018, my husband and I purchased travel insurance through the TD bank which is underwritten by Allianz. We were driving to Florida from our home in southwestern Ontario. The insurance purchased covered us from the date of our departure to the expected date of our return. In the middle of our two week vacation in Florida I developed a bladder infection and immediately phoned their "administrator" for assistance. I was directed to a Physicians Group they are affiliated with. Everything went very smoothly to this point. I was seen by a nurse practitioner and given a prescription. My policy did not cover prescriptions, unless I was hospitalized, which I was not, so no problem. I fully expected to pay for my prescription. What I did not expect, however, was the abuse I have received from this company since my return to Canada and their refusal to pay this claim because I do not have "proof of departure that meets their policy requirements". Valid proof of departure includes: airline, train or bus tickets, SIGNED Canadian gas or service receipts, duty free receipts, payment of bills showing your name and date paid or bank or credit card statement with your name on it and indicating a purchase in your home province ON OR THE DAY BEFORE your departure date!!!!!! Excuse me, but, nowhere on their purchase agreement could I find this nonsense. The only thing I could find was that you are unable to purchase insurance more than 240 days before yoou intend to travel!!! I have sent all kinds of proof that I was in fact here, at home, in southwestern Ontario before we drove to Florida. They will not accept any of it. They keep insisting that I should have known that I needed to make a purchase at duty free in my name!!!! How many vendors give you a receipt with your name written on it these days?? Allianz will not even accept my credit card account number on a receipt as proof!! They do not accept a sworn affidavit from my superintendent that he saw me leave. They do not accept my bank receipt from 2 days prior to departure for US funds!!! Run, this company is scamming people. Shame, shame on all the companies like TD that use them.
