Sent me on a bogus "audition"

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

All Around Talent sent me on a hair modeling "audition" for a hair straightening product called MaxiGlide. The audition was in fact a shoot in which they were using models and not paying them.

I was told that the audition would be taped and if footage was used I would be compensated. Naturally I believed this would be a short taped audition and if they liked some of the reaction footage, it would be used in the infomercial.

When I got to the "audition" I waited for over an hour while the producer/director began shooting the infomercial. This was a shoot disguised as an audition to get around paying models for their time.

Loss:
$100
Reason of review:
Problems with payment

Preferred solution: I missed work for this "audition" and should be compensated for the losses. However, I am really just writing so others are not scammed in the future like I was.

All around talent is a scam. Watch on NBC news.

These statements are pathetically wrong by this model. She didn't get booked and is showing a lack of professionalism and knowledge.

This is the entertainment business. Its hard to book in general, but only a naive model complains about the company trying to help her book the job.

Burning bridges is not smart. Think before you speak.

All Around Talent only sends models on legitimate PAYING jobs and thousands of models can support this statement via the checks they have received in the mail from us over 12 years via the multimillion and billion dollar companies whom we regularly work with. We have a shared mutual interest with talent for talent to book jobs and make money.

This model did not. 4 of the 12 models booked. We have been successful with some of the largest hair & beauty brands that exist. Our team of talent brokers only makes money if talent makes money.

Any insinuation we do other wise is simply unjustified and shows that a model is mis-informed by sharing emotionally driven opinions that are completely not valid. Clearly this NEW model was upset she was not picked resulting in her time being wasted by the client (not All Around Talent) and decided to make a statement in frustration. We completely understand her frustration with this NEW client and regret to hear she had such a hard time at the actual casting. However, All Around Talent is not the client and does not run the actual casting process so this complaint simply does not apply to us.

This complaint is understandable as models should not have to wait that long. The complaint is bogus in the fast it is driven towards All Around Talent. We get you to the front door and do payroll if you book so although the complaint about the process may be legitimate, but this model directed her complaint to the wrong company. All Around Talent has absolutely no reason to ever send models on jobs that are bogus.

There is nothing in it for us.

We are asking for a public apology and retraction of this erroneous statement as it is misdirected, as All Around Talent does not facilitate the actual casting process. We have spoke to this model.

Clearly we do not support any inappropriate behavior or mistreatment of models time at any casting. It unfortunately is not in our control. We relay the information by production to talent.

In this case, we do not feel the client was well organized. Furthermore we informed this model we appreciated her feedback and would not be moving forward wit this client. Its important to note that 99% of our castings run smoothly.

We can easily debunk the misdirected derogatory and subjective opinions made here with some simple facts.

FACT - 4 models were actually selected at this casting and have already been paid. We have invoices and bank statements to support this.

So there was no disguise going on and nor was it bogus. So this debunks the models statement The client has fulfilled their financial responsibility thus far.

FACT - This client filled out a job agreement with All Around Talent as did the model explaining everything prior to the casting. FACT - This model applied for the job and her photos were sent to the client for approval. We tried our best to help her book the job she applied for.

FACT - This was a non-union production. Casting overtime fees are ONLY paid for UNION productions. FACT - The audition was October 7th and the shoot was October 9th which also discredits her statement because there was a shoot for selected models. The actual shoot was not the audition as suggested.

FACT - ALL MODELS were informed in advance of the casting that it would be recorded. It was in the casting breakdown for which this model applied. We have documentation to support this model applied to this casting with the process of this casting in hand. We were not informed that it would be a lengthy casting and do not agree with the way hat was handled by the client and completely understand why she is upset.

FACT - Its a models own choice to decide to re-arrange her schedule. That also has nothing to do with All Around Talent. This is completely up to the model. Time conflicts in this industry a very common occurrence as any experienced talent is aware of.

Its a challenge for all levels of talent throughout the industry. FACT - We have hundreds of castings every year and thousands of models attend castings with a variety of clients throughout the US & Canada. Basically this model made a mistake in expressing her frustration with the casting process to the wrong company and needs to apologize to All Around Talent for making this complaint. Its an honest mistake, but slander and defamation are illegal.

The complaint should have been made about the company who held the actual casting process which were the producers of the shoot. It should absolutely not have been made to the business (ALL AROUND TALENt) trying to help her book the job for which she applied for. It would behoove models to understand the booking process before making cheap slanderous statements on public forums without being fully knowledgeable of the process. Simultaneously, we do respect and listen to all feedback from models and talent.

However making statements on slander driven forums like this one is not a smart choice especially when they are wrong. Prior to even reading this erroneous claim 2 days ago, we had already informed this model that we will not move forward on future castings with this client. We are a very busy business and have no time for needless headaches. We will not be held accountable for models behavior or clients behavior on castings sites or productions sites because its simply impossible for us to do so.

We will listen and make adjustments on future productions if possible based on legitimate feedback. Quiet frankly we feel that most of this is common sense to seasoned talent.

Any clients or talent who have any concerns whatsoever may contact us directly. Thank you and we look forward to another successful 12 years of business.

This model was promised a paying job if she passed the audition, the fact that that was not what she received is a scam. I assume you work for All Around Talent since you refered to them as "us." What is pathetic is that you would talk in this way about another person or model, a legitimate agency or at least decent human being would not call out a model like that, especially under an anonymous name. Think before you speak.

2 complaints made are not valid - READ THE TRUTH

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

All Around Talent is a successful network of talent brokers across the nation booking talent for a variety of talent positions, from shoe models to hair models, make up artists or models for network broadcasts, magazine covers, trade shows of all kind, voice overs, etc. Its a very solid company that has been around for a decade which very few similar companies in the industry can say. I work for them part time as a talent broker.

Both of the complaints were written by the same person on the same day and are simply not valid. They may have even been written by a competitor or somebody with a desperate personal issue.

How can you tell? Simple look at the dates of the erroneous complaints and what they foolishly say. The dates are the same.

The person (if its actually a model) states in their first complaint that they did not work with All Around Talent in the end. The same person then goes on to complain about payment issues. For starters, they would have never been paid if they breached the agreement and worked through another company. You have to work through a company to be paid, so ummmm gee we aren't dealing with the brightest individual here. Why would they make a complaint about a payment when they never even worked through All Around Talent. Its makes you wonder. This person never worked with All Around Talent in the end. Once again, you have to work through a company to be paid by a company. This is a clear and transparent attempt to cause damage to All Around Talent, also known as defamation of character or slander, regardless if its a model, competitor, or somebody with a personal grudge.

(Its worth noting that a competitor lives in the Delray Beach/Boynton Beach area which is where this comment came out of. Its also worth noting that this same competitor is being sued by their former employer within the industry. Furthermore we have never had an event in the Delray/Boynton Beach area in the 4 years I have been with the company which is where the complaint came from..mmmm what does that tell you. THE COMPLAINTS ARE BOGUS).

We work with several very very large corporate companies and have done so for over a decade. Today's technology allows many people to work from home; I do and have no problem with it. As long as somebody gets the job done, who cares where they work from. (To be honest its a great job).

All models fill out an agreement prior to each casting. Models may work with any company they want. Our information and contract is presented to models before they agree to work with us. Once you fill out a contract you cannot change your talent broker/agent for that exact job. You may on your next job. The person making this complaint explains the breached their agreement. Imagine if your real estate agent showed you a house, did all your paper work for you to buy the house and then wrote down they were with another real estate agent. Its obviously a breach contract. Its like cheating in business. So essentially, this person making the complaint is the one at fault and then took it a step further trying to belittle a really solid guy. Our terms are CLEARLY stated in the contract. 99.9 % of people understand that when you breach an agreement, there are penalties and they don't do them. Think about it when you breach your phone contract there are penalties or cancellation fees as there are with airlines, credit cards, and just about every business out there. These fees are not a personal matter; its just business. However in my 4 years with the company, we have only issued one penalty fee and yes we still work with that model.

Now, if this actually is a model that wrote this, it is extremely clear the model did not read their contract and is at fault. Its unfortunate that irrational and unmerited comments are made by those at fault which is exactly the case here. Somebody may have been acting out of rage when they were caught in breach of agreement. AGAIN, if this statement was actually made by a model; All Around Talent reserves the right to take legal action at any time of their choosing. Furthermore this individual has provided All Around Talent with evidence of defamation of character and slander which will only further this individuals legal issues. The two bad comments made were wrote the same day by the same person and due to the fact this person is cowardly hiding behind an anonymous profile, there is no way to validate this is even a model. It honestly sounds like a personal tiff or a competitor that wrote this with a clear agenda to damage the reputation of All Around Talent, but who knows.

NOTE - Due to the nature of the business and booking models, all brokers are required to do a background check with personal references. Dave is a very solid guy who always gets the job done. Simply disregard the unmerited comments about him.

The timing of payments is provided to each model in advance of even attending the casting and prior to filling on the contract for that job. It varies from client to client. When you work with large international billion dollar corporations, you have to go with their payment period when you are the small guy. Payments are made within 1 to 3 business days of receipt from the client. If this is actually a model, they breached the agreement. They even explain this and provide evidence of it within their poorly written complaint. But it may just be a competitor or somebody with personal grudge. Who knows, who cares. Just because its online does not make it valid or intelligent. Unfortunately this website allows anybody to write anything without validation; so its hard to really consider anything on this site valid. The bottom line is that All Around Talent is a solid company that has been around over a decade AND GROWING with a lot of huge clients that are happy as well as dozens of smaller clients. The fact is that there are thousands of talented individuals across the country that learn All Around Talent is a solid company which is consistently demonstrated in many ways, but most importantly by all the paychecks received by talent in the mail.

One man operation from a living room/ guy with temper

David Venafro ( Owner of All Around Talent) is an ***. Will NEVER work with him again. Unprofessional! One man operation from his living room.

I signed up with them, and he threatened to sue me, when I changed my mind and wanted to work with another agency before commiting to them. ThEN HE EMAILED THE CLIENT AND TOLD THEM NOT TO WORK WITH ME. He acts all nice, but really has a nasty temper. Watch out for that one.

Guy has a rap sheet.

Check out his mugshot: http://mugshot-catalogs.com/booking/515****/David-Venafro

He just talks alot of smack. He doesn't have any valid contracts, and of course never sued me!

Whoever posted this is full of *** It clearly isn't a one man operation, because I've booked multiple jobs from a different agent who works there, and I know there are others too. The guy who posted this is clearly a disgruntled model who stuck out at a casting or even more likely, posted by Mega Flash Models.

You need to have talent before you hire a talent agent.

No payment

Unprofessional guy with a huge temper.I called to inquire about my payment. The guy yelled at me and told me that I should not even bother to call before 60 days.

It's even on their website. " do not call before then, it will be disregarded.WHEN TO CALL or EMAIL - If its been 10 business days past the expected payment time. Be sure to call us at 818.470.1911 to state that its been 10 business days past the expected time and you are not sure where your check is. We will try to look it up immediately! This means you should be calling at day 80 or day 55 depending on the payment time for that job. PLEASE DO NOT CALL BEFORE THEN, IT WILL BE DISREGARDED! Trust us when we say we wish they paid faster. REMEMBER, we don't get paid until you do. PLAN YOUR FINANCES appropriately. Payments are not normally late, but that does happen from time to time due to errors that are usually beyond our control.

All Around Talent is very experienced in booking hair & beauty models and have been so for a decade which is what this refers to. In additional to hair & beauty models, we also have booked a variety of other talent and continue to do so as we further our growth.

Companies that don't do a good job simply don't survive for 10 years as All Around Talent has. Our models appreciate our thoroughness and information. Our clients appreciate our personal service and respect our relationship which is why we have survived on referrals alone for a decade. We book a lot of large corporate events at venues across the country.

If you are interested in booking talent for your event, please contact us to learn more!

PAYMENT INFORMATION FOR TALENT

Its in our interest to pay models as quickly as possible.

We provide payment information and timing CLEARLY in advance of all jobs. Unfortunately payment times are not in the control of All Around Talent. We work with very large MAJOR companies throughout the US and have done so successfully for over a decade. There is good reason we have been successful that long.

AGAIN, payment times are provided in advance of each casting. Each model is asked to check they read this information and agree to it PRIOR to attending this casting. We are all in this together and want to continue to grow. It is in our interest to thoroughly make sure all our models and clients are informed.

Due to advances in technology payment times have dramatically improved from our hair & beauty clients and thankfully so.

Currently our hair & beauty clients average 15 to 45 days to fully pay. We assume this trend will continue and models will be paid faster and faster in the future, as we would like to be paid faster and faster. All Around Talent turns payment around in 1 to 2 business upon receipt of payment from the client, regardless of how long our clients take to pay. If they pay early, talent get paid early.

All Around Talent's brokers are paid after models, so we are all waiting on the payment together and share a mutual interest in a timely payment.

Talent are always provided this complete information in advance of any job. Clients do not pay out any one company faster than another. That's important for talent to know in general.

NOTE - The above applies to hair & beauty clients only, not all clients. Thank you
