- - Repeated issues at Mattoon: frames and lenses.
- - Lenses were wrong, three exams; frames arrived with bent hinge and gap; requests regional manager.
I had an issue the last 2 times I got an eye exam and glasses from the Mattoon location. They ruined 2 pairs of frames and one of my lenses had an imperfection on it.
My recent exam and glasses purchase 12/25-current has been another horrible experience. My lenses were wrong, so I had to get re-examined twice... 3 total exams. It took 3 sets of lenses to get my lens somewhat correct.
I picked up my glasses finally yesterday, just to get home and find out my frames have an arm hinge that was bent and has a gap between the frames and the arm. So my glasses won't sit on my face straight. I hate to be one to complain, but glasses are a huge expense. I saw a different eye doctor because of this.
I decided to give them my business this time and got the same results. Now my insurance coverage has been used for the year and I'm stuck dealing with another terrible experience.
I can't even go to another eye doctor now. That being said, I want to request to speak to a regional manager or someone over the Mattoon location to resolve this matter.
- Always have same week appointments
- Everything is terrible from the moment you walk in until you walk away everyone is rude there the drs cant get a perscription or an exam correct ever

- - Ordered two bifocals; frames not new and vision poor.
- - Frames had tape, glue, scratches; display-model and wrong prescription; refunds offered.
Had my eyes examined, ordered 2 new pairs of bifocals. Went to pick them up, couldn't see with them.
AAE said they needed to send one of the frames in so new ones could be ordered for new lenses. I went to pick them up and old frames with the same lenses I couldn't see with. I asked them why the new frames had tape residue, glue, and scratches on the earpiece of the new frames, and they said they didn't know but that they were new. Sent back again.
Got a call they were ready and still couldn't see with them. Then I was told they can't get one of the frames anymore, so they will refund the safety glasses because they have nothing in safety that will fit now. They finally told me that the glasses can no longer be ordered, so the new ones I got were not new at all; they were the display model, and they lied to me twice about them being new. I watched the desk girl take one pair of the glasses and bend the nose pieces a quarter inch to see if that would help me see with the wrong prescription.
Got some of the money refunded, but they won't refund the exam that had the wrong prescription, so now I have no glasses, and my insurance won't pay for the exam elsewhere, and All About Eyes agreed that I paid for an exam that is useless. I can't use the script elsewhere because it's not correct. This place is a joke; I will never go there again. Also, I was seen by a doctor on the initial visit but never again for the next 4 visits even though I kept telling them I couldn't see out of them as I should.
They also tried telling me that I could adjust them on my face anytime I couldn't see out of part of them (lift them up or down). They get your money, and then the customer service ends!
- Horrible job fitting for glasses
- Lied to
- Horrible customer service

- - Had an eye exam and ordered glasses and contacts.
- - No one contacted me about glasses after a month; I plan to cancel and rework insurance.
No answer
I went in and had an eye exam and also ordered my glasses and some contacts as well. Its been a month and no ones ever gotten back to me about my glasses being in and I called one time and that was the end of it so I think Ill just go ahead and cancel the glasses and they can rework all my insurance data. I guess Im gonna be through with them.

Verified ReviewerHaven't Received My Order
- - Lenses not received since July 2025.
- - Wearing 30-day trial lenses since July due to order issues.
- - Right-eye prescription wrong; lens blurry.
I've been waiting on contact lenses from All About Eyes in Champaign since July 2025 and still have not received them. I have been wearing the same pair of trial 30-day disposable contacts since July because they keep messing up my order.
Most recently, they entered the prescription incorrectly for my right eye, and the contact lens I received was blurry and unusable, so I had to go back for another eye exam and have another pair of trial lenses ordered. I called today to see if my trial lenses had arrived yet (the store doesn't call you when the order arrives - you have to keep calling in and checking), and they said they had no idea. I don't understand what is taking so long. It's really unacceptable to put customers through this.
My eyes are burning because I've been wearing the same contacts for so long. They're 30-day disposables, and I've been wearing them since July. It's now mid-September.
I called my old eye doctor, and they said it should take about a week for them to receive my contacts, so I'm going to cut ties with All About Eyes and make the hour drive to my old eye doctor to get this taken care of. I can't keep waiting with no end in sight.
- Some of the doctors namely dr chug are great
- Other doctors and all of the supoort staff are terrible - condescending and unprofessional
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Really, Really Bad Customer Treatment
Will not do anything about glasses over 600.00
Nothing they can do. Not dark enough .
they say that's all they can do, but what do you do with a pair of sunglasses that don't work? Over 500.00 with insurance
User's recommendation: Do not go there. I will not return

Verified ReviewerPoor Customer Service
- - Frame was damaged by the facility that handled it.
- - The disclaimer says they are not responsible once frame leaves, and a replacement was offered.
I took my frame in to have new lenses put in them. The disclaimer I signed was once my frame left their location they were not responsible for them (breakage specifically) becuase they were not in their control.
I get that. The people that got my frame did break it. I wanted the name to contact them to replace my frame but I was told it was an All About Eyes facilitiy.
Why can't the facility that did the damge be held accountable. Of course I was given the option to buy a new frame - this is TERRIBLE customer service but a great way for AAE to make more money!
User's recommendation: Beware!
Can't get service
- - Gave glasses with a broken frame to an associate at Mattoon All About Eyes.
- - They haven't fixed them and I can't get the broken ones back.
Weeks ago I gave a pair of glasses to an associate at Mattoon All About Eyes with a broken frame. I have been back several times and they aren't fixed and I can't even get the broken ones back. When I go in the associate just reviews the file and agrees that I brought them in but nothing is complete.
- Still waiting on service
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered

All About Eyes - Glasses Review from Belleville, Illinois
- - Pickup was slow; a staff member answered a call and I waited.
- - Other staff were nice.
- - Quotes negotiable; commission-based pricing, especially for uninsured.
At first my experience was great. Up until the day I picked up my glasses.
The young lady that was waiting on me not only was very slow she answered the phone and left me sitting and wating for her to come back. All awhile the two co-workers where there who could have answered. The other people working where very nice. Also remember when they guote you a price, it is negotiable.
They work on commission. Which they should be up front with the consumer. Especially with people who dont have insurance.
Don't think I'll be back to that location.
All about eyes workers very rude
- - Excited for new glasses but had migraines.
- - Rude staff at Edwardsville All About Eyes to customer and elderly mother; price confusion and false prices.
I went there after they had just opened and i was very excited about getting new glasses and also because i had been having really bad migraines. The workers at the edwardsville il all about eyes were very rude to me and my mother.
I will add the fact that my mother is elderly and walks with assistance and a cane. My mother asked one of the workers a question and she was very rude to her and yelled at her because she was slightly confused about eye glass prices because the worker kept giving us false prices on the frames.
The other young lady there was also rude to me after i had to come back and pick up my glasses because i reported the young lady. I think that this place is absolutely the worst place to get your glasses simply because the workers are so rude.
