Was told it would be easier if I wasn't throwing a tantrum

Excuse me for being old..and fidgety

Preferred solution: Compensation for being insulted by staff

No reply to complaint lodged. My advice is to boycott ALH pubs owned by Woolworths. The attitude of their management staff is deplorable and the worst I have ever come across in the hospitality industry.They have no idea what customer relationships mean or how to implement.

As a former publican I wish to lodge the strongest possible complaint with the management staff at your property trading as the Village Tavern at the Golden Grove Shopping Centre in Adelaide. Never ever have I experienced in my lifetime such customer service that I consider grossly under performing and degrading.

Over the last 2 years that I have been frequenting this establishment, there have been numerous barring of patrons for periods of one month to six months, that during my time as a publican, I have never found it necessary to impose. 12 months ago, my wife and I were having a drink in your establishment when I indentvertanly pushed my wife when another patron spoke to her and because of her deafness, she did not respond. The push was to have her acknowledge the patron speaking to her. Shortly after we left the hotel to return home and within 5 minutes I was pulled over by 2 female police officers who claimed I has assaulted my wife of 53 years!!!

I was absolutely ropable at this treatment and did not go back to this hotel for over 6 months. This evening I went to the hotel for my usual 3 beers. Usually my wife would be with me. Tonight was an exception and she wanted to stay in the car as she was not feeling well.

This is not unusual for her as she has mixed Alzheimer's Dementia, and other health issues. She tried to join me in the Sports Bar where I normally drink every day (7 Days a week) and because of her confused state ended up in the function room. Your duty broke into a very important conversation I was having with a client to advise me she was in the function room and started berating me for leaving my wife outside in the car. I informed I was totally aware of my wife's health condition, far more than her and did not need her advice on how I look after her.

Threats were then made to call the police. Your staff are obviously not trained in these types of issues as well as normal PR situations as evidenced by the number of barings that occur.

My wife and I will never again visit any of your establishments will will advise any of our friends and acquaintances to give your establishments a wide berth. Yours, {{Redacted}}
