There is ZERO accountability within the ranks at Airbnb's customer service dept. They are allowed to be rude to you, hang up on you, not give their identity when asked, there is never a manager or they won't give you one when asked because they know full well they will never be held to any sort of customer service standard as it simply is not part of Airbnb' protocal. Also when they encapsulate your problem via email, they don't actually include...

AirB&B hosts can cancel ANY reservation at ANY time. That means that they can cancel your reservation as you are in your rental car coming from the airport and expecting to arrive at your RESERVED accommodations. ANY reservation - ANY time. When my Christmas-time reservation was cancelled by the host yesterday (I booked TWO months in advance and paid in FULL to guarantee a nice place for my fly-in family reunion in Phoenix over Christmas),...

Twice this week my tenant listed the unit he rents from me on Airbnb. I have made multiple phone calls to Airbnb's "customer experience" flacks and to get someone in the corporate office to address the issue with me, take the ads down, and permanently bar any listings for any unit in that building (the condo association house rules explicitly prohibit short-term rentals, and owners and renters are required to abide by them). Clearly, Airbnb is...

When we arrived to the location we were astonished to see the number of homeless people sprawled on the street. The host would not come outside to welcome us, but waited at the door for us to come. It should have been the first warning to turn around, go back into the car and leave. Unfortunately, we went ahead and followed her upstairs to the apartment. There was no place for a key, only a keypad, making us very suspicious and nervous---Not to...

This perhaps never happens on any Airbnb guest. me and my wife rented a little cabin in Denver through Airbnb. In the morning, we heard some sounds in house outside of our room. As we open the door, we saw a male stranger carrying our backpack and ipad. We tried to stop him but fail. We were too scared! We call 911 immediately. The theft actually searched all rooms (we closed all room doors at night) except ours. Terrible and dangerous...

airbnb bills itself as a trusted community of cost-effective alternatives to hotels. It is nothing of the sort. First, it is not cost-effective. I stayed at 4 airbnb properties in the Bay Area - after airbnb's 12% "service fee", I paid an average of $105 per night. For that price, this is what I got: - really horrid beds. I mean, single beds, broken mattresses. - shared bathrooms with 3 other people (try that when you're trying to get out in the...

duh It's San Francisco. You paid a reasonable price. Airbnb is really frowned upon in San Francisco, anyway.

so sad i loved airbnb....this is major second time "yack" experience... last one was also really bad....they cancel my reservation without confirming with me, yet charged me full amount, what happen? i only send inquiry email to host "possibly change the date? would I be charged or ...". If moving the date will cause me to get "cancellation charge", I was just going to send my mom to the property to enjoy as a gift! kind host cancel without...

what's the point! Waste of my plannign time! You check, find their calendar to be open, then, owner keep "declining" the availability!!!, WTF!!! Do something about it AirBNB!!! 1) I spend hours to find great place, very very excited! 2) check calendar, "yes, it's available! yey" 3) make reservation with "STRICT cancellation policy" etc, so i make sure I cannot make reservation to other place 4) WAIT for 2-3 days, to ONLY GET, "oh, wont' work...

Think twice about using this site. It's impossible to contact customer service before your account is verified, and when the verification is the problem, you are screwed. Why do they need your account id's and passwords, you SSN, your driver's license and number? But before the process even completes, they charge your credit card. I hope the rest of their business is not as sloppy and lacking in customer care ad the sign-up process. Hummm......

My sister and I rented a flat in SanFrancisco, hoping to save money on the cost of a hotel room. While the flat was clean, it was not fancy or expensively decorated. When we were getting ready to depart, I attempted to clean the surroundings, despite the fact you have to pay a cleaning fee on top of the rental rate. In cleaning a small spot off an upholstered ottoman (possible not one I had caused), the color on the burlap faded, leaving a ring...

James Really? You damaged something and are upset that you had to pay for it? A hotel would do no less.
