Shockingly poor!

I spent a fantastic week exploring Malta. Then I flew Malta Airlines to Munich (KM0308 19Sept 1540) to catch a connecting flight home, and I received appalling service and attitudes from two individuals of the cabin crew. My seat was in economy class and being 2 meters tall, I did not fit into it. One other passenger next to me was equally tall and the passenger next to him was shorter but much larger. Immediately I realized that I did not fit in this seat, I asked a stewardess (name unknown) if I could move to a seat with more leg room if one was unoccupied. She agreed. My two larger passengers seated themselves. Along came Steward Adriaan, who said it was not good to have three big guys seated together (or words to that effect). He called the chap next to me and indicated for him to come so that he could be seated in an emergency exit seat. I spoke to the stewardess who had promised me a seat, and she immediately spoke to Adriaan, who gruffly overrode her without even a glance or an apology to me. Subsequently, the oversized chap was also moved to the front of the craft in business, a seat with legroom.

A short while later, I asked Stewardess Kelly very politely if the pilot would be trying to make up time as we left 40 minutes late from Malta International Airport and I was concerned about my connecting flight. It was my previous experience that this was common practice with late flights. She said that she would ask the pilot. She went about her duties, serving meals and refreshments to business class and the pilots in the cockpit. She entered the cockpit on three occasions. Being a 2hr 30min flight, the cabin staff finished their duties quickly and were then standing around talking to each other. At no time did Kelly come to me to answer my query. Later, I saw a uniformed officer (pilot?) exit the cockpit to speak to Adriaan and Kelly, at which time I left my seat to ask the pilot myself what our landing time was. Kelly, who saw me approach the galley, closed the curtain angrily and aggressively to prevent my interaction with the pilot, who had entered the toilet. Since I too needed the toilet, I waited outside the curtain. When the pilot had re-entered the cockpit, she opened the curtain to allow me to use the toilet. Before going in, I asked her about our flight and our estimated landing time to which she promptly stated we would land at 18:10 as per the schedule. We actually landed at 18:27. Air stewardess Kelly felt no shame in blatantly lying to me. The rudeness, arrogance, and disdain for passengers that the two named individuals above showed me were unprecedented in the 35 years that I've flown internationally. Their blatant contempt for passengers other than those in business class is astounding. People I spoke to about Malta Airlines had warned me that if possible, I should avoid flying this airline as the planes are old and the service is shockingly bad. Unfortunately, with the airline partnerships prevalent at smaller destinations, this was unavoidable.

Furthermore, when looking out my window, I saw what was clearly corrosion on this very old aircraft (see attached pics). I will be sharing my review widely as these individuals and the lack of training they clearly receive from this airline might assist others in avoiding this treatment.

Preferred solution: Nothing they offer will make good my experience. T&C's don't stipulate politeness & courtesy, but it is implied, offered & practiced by EVERY other airline. A most appallingly rude, disconcerting & uncomfortable experience, compared to ANY other airlines.

Verspätung Gepäck

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,

hiermit möchte ich eine Entschädigung für die Unannehmlichkeiten anfordern, die mir durch den Verlust meines Koffers entstanden sind, welcher aufgrund eines Fehlers eines Ihrer Mitarbeiter vergessen wurde und erst zwei Tage verspätet in Malta ankam. Dieser Mitarbeiter am Schalter bei der Gepäckaufgabe in Wien war nicht kompetent und wirkte sehr genervt von seiner Arbeit! Zudem musste ich erheblichen Aufwand betreiben, um meinen Koffer persönlich am Flughafen Malta abzuholen.

Am 06.07.2024 bin ich mit KM MALTA AIRLINES von Wien nach Malta geflogen. Bei meiner Ankunft musste ich feststellen, dass mein Koffer nicht am Gepäckband war. Nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Bodenpersonal wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass mein Gepäck aufgrund eines Versehens eines Mitarbeiters nicht in das Flugzeug geladen wurde.

Erst nach zwei Tagen wurde mein Koffer schließlich gefunden und ich erhielt die Mitteilung, dass ich ihn am Flughafen in Malta abholen könne. Diese Situation verursachte nicht nur erhebliche Unannehmlichkeiten, sondern auch zusätzliche Kosten und Zeitaufwand für die Abholung des Koffers.

Im Detail fordere ich folgende Entschädigungen:

1. **Kompensation für den verspäteten Erhalt des Gepäcks**: Zwei Tage ohne Zugang zu meinen persönlichen Gegenständen und Kleidungsstücken haben erhebliche Unannehmlichkeiten verursacht.

2. **Erstattung der entstandenen Kosten und Aufwände für die Selbstabholung**: Fahrtkosten zum Flughafen und zurück, Parkgebühren am Flughafen und Zeitaufwand für die Abholung.

3. **Erstattung für notwendige Ersatzkäufe**: Da ich ohne mein Gepäck war, musste ich in Malta notwendige Kleidungsstücke und Toilettenartikel kaufen, um meinen Aufenthalt fortsetzen zu können.

4. **Erstattung für zusätzliche Kommunikationskosten**: Mehrere Anrufe und E-Mails an die Gepäckermittlungsstelle, um den Verbleib meines Koffers zu klären, haben zusätzliche Kosten verursacht.

5. **Entschädigung für den entgangenen Urlaubsgenuss**: Die ersten zwei Tage meines Aufenthalts in Malta waren stark beeinträchtigt, da ich ohne meine persönlichen Gegenstände war und viel Zeit mit der Klärung des Gepäckverlustes verbringen musste.

Ich bitte um eine zeitnahe Rückmeldung und eine angemessene Entschädigung für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten und zusätzlichen Kosten.

Online check in and seats

Online check in on 23th of october. It was not possible to manage the seats (traveling with two small children).

Call center told me, that I have to make it by company, where I bult the tickets. But online check in and seats make you by flying company and not by travel agency.

Before the return journey, I wanted to make online check in. Unfortunately, it was not possible. Contacted call center, there I was told that it is not a problem, I can do it at the airport.

At the airport I met your unfriendly employee. She rolled her eyes and told me that I hadn't made a seat reservation and I had children with me. I explained that it was not possible.

She then assigned us seats and said that my husband was sitting somewhere else. Two seats behind me were free.

Hello, we added 2 bags but an error occurred, we then tried again and the transaction worked but 4 bags were checked instead of 2 which makes a total of 80 euros instead of 40 euros for our 2 bags, can you cancel the 2 extra bags please?

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. We called for the 6th time and the employee resoved the issue without any problem

In order to change your flight YOU SHOULD ONLY CALL and that in 2024. Called 3 times, paid a lot for connecting.

The payment didn't get through for unknown reason (as they confirmed; problems with their payment procedure). Still didn't change the flights and no way to contact them. The 4th time I was the first caller online and after 10 minutes I had to hang up.

Awful customer service.. never had it with other companies.

Missed Flight Due to Gate Change not announced

Hello,

I was due to take a flight from Paris, France on April 23rd at 9:50 a.m. from gate 52, but it was changed at the last minute, and I was not notified and consequently missed the flight. I had to buy a SIM card to call your office from Paris, where I was told that I had to buy another ticket. However, my original ticket should have been covered, as it was business class. They insisted I had to buy another ticket for the flight that left that evening. I went ahead and bought another ticket under the belief that my original fare would be refunded. I can provide additional information once I am contacted. I would like to reach an amicable resolution to this situation. Usually, when a flight is missed, especially for a business class ticket, you can rebook without having to buy another ticket. I look forward to hearing from you.

Lost wheel on suitcase

Your website was freezing up and completing the ticket online was confusing and honestly, I wasn't even sure that had.

I tried online to change the date to Wednesday 27 November but I was unable to.

I am flying RDU- LHR on 26 Nov, arriving at 10:00am.

There is no way that I could make a connection on Malta Air the same morning.

I apologize for the confusion on my end and wonder if there is any thing I can do to apply this as a credit towards another ticket.

Please advise!

I will never buy from this company yet. One thing is they deliver it to the wrong place, and I try to talk to them about it over and over.

I've been doing this for like 3 days. I even sent them pictures showing that it was not my apartment. They delivered it to. It was another apartment mine's a long way, this one doesn't have a hallway.

It's got 2 doors when like going down a hallway, but there's no hallway at the store and then mine's all the way down, it's long and and needs to be fixed. Not until you fix this problem.Will I ever buy for you or my friends will not my email

Baggage check in confirmation

I'll be traveling from Rome to Malta and when I try to manage my booking to add a luggage allowance, it doesn't give me the option. I would just like to know if I can arrange payment for a check-in bag at the airport. I have 2 bags for 2 people, 30kg each.

Stornierung der Flüge ohne Info

Wir haben über Opodo drei Flüge bei Ihnen gebucht, bereits im Juli 2023. Diese wurden anscheinend im November 2023 storniert, uns hat man aber NICHT informiert.

Somit standen wir am 30.04.24 am Flughafen München und standen nicht auf der Passagierliste. Dadurch sind uns enorme Kosten entstanden.
