Thanks to my employer we have this worthless insurance company with a very high deductible and they won't pay anything until it's met. My doctor put in a referral for a MRI on my right hip and they denied it saying you have to do 6 weeks of treatments first. How can you do treatments when you don't have a diagnosis ? It is my opinion. I purchased a long-term and a short term disability policy from Aetna through my employer. I became disabled because of a heart attack, verified by 3 doctors, state, SSA and other insurance companies. Horrible communication. Terrible knowledge of their product, consistently misquoting benefits, resulting in members being billed exorbitant, unnecessary out of pocket expenses. Failure to provide medically necessary treatment. Failure to provide case manager to members when services are denied. Do not care about members or their health.

My grandmother didnt have a choice and was given aetna at the beginning of the year. She used to have coverage and medicare but now she doesnt get anything. Expected to pay out of pocket for hospital stays which shes been in for 2 weeks and denial of therapy. How can someone move after laying in a hospital bed for 2 weeks? My employer recently changed my insurance from BC/BS to Aetna. Worst thing that could have happened. I am been battling with them for two weeks to get my daughters diabetes supplies. they have the absolute worst claims processors and good luck getting them adjusted correctly because you will have to jump through fire bc the customer service reps have no clue what to do if it's claim related. I wish I could just tell you about one instance, but I have had issues with so many claims. I finally quit trying to explain to the reps and just appealed the claims. They all got overturned, but then I had to wait 15 days for the claim... Read more

Just had a surgery where I was forced to go back into the doctor and pay for a full exam again so that Aetna could approve the surgery. got approval for the surgery my doctor was in network and hospital was in network. now aetna is refusing to pay 45k claim for one of the hospitals doctors that was in the surgery. I just had bad customer experience with Aetna regarding the denial of a mammogram in CT. Coverage of the mammogram is the law in CT. Aetna is denying allegedly because my provider used digital. The customer service person put me on hold twice to clarify as she did no understand the denial even with the case number. Maybe I should go with Fl Blue Advantage plan again with all the horrible reviews. Oh yes they will give you Delta insurance for dental which is nothing but *** Aspen dental if you can find anyone had a good experience there I'll fall over dead! Only few days left but Aetna once a good insurance sounds like it's turned into ***!!!
