I am a pensioner living on a fixed income and am out of pocket to the tune of thousands of Rand due to an explosion of the glass top on an AEG gas stove (see attached pics). The incident could have caused severe injury. The situation has been both traumatic and distressing. I complained to local South African representative of Electrolux/AEG that I was out of pocket due to no fault of mine and requested to be compensated for my loss. They were absolutely uncooperative and unsympathetic in addressing my concerns and refused to compensate me based on company policy. Furthermore, they lied about the availability of a replacement stove thus incurring me further loss. Treating an elderly pensioner expecting the customer to carry the loss of a faulty product shows their lack of customer care as well as lack of any social responsibility. I escalated my complaint to Electrolux Sweden the parent company of AEG. To highlight the arrogance and lack of concern of Electrolux Sweden, they have to date not responded to my complaint nor acknowledged receipt of it either. It demonstrates their lack of commitment for the middle-income markets they currently service.

Shocking customer care

The questions on this website force the star rating based on irrelevant factors when it comes to relevancyI believe zero stars, not even one star is more appropriatecall centre staff toxic and rude for a costly brand, arrogant and all the and attitude is clearly because AEG take no interest in the vast amount of reviews stating bad customer careand as calls are recorded there cannot be any biase when it comes to what they hear from their staff, if they bothered to listen to said calls and then bothered to be honest about their bad customer careits more so customercouldnt care less when it comes to AEGpromise of faulty part while in warranty never came, repeat calls got me no where, asking for manages gets you the phone put down on youor toxic arrogant language, misquoted, then to top it all they beech the 2010 disability rules, and advise that blind or dyslexic customers just have to go and find someone to write them an emailtoughhow these guys are allowed to speak to those who pay their salaries as they do is astounding, but clearly the fact AEG IGNORE BAD ATTITUDE FROM THEIR STAFF, just sends the signal to keep on doing itwont buy AEG again, poor quality and horrid customer carelike other reviewers say they force you to email them in the basis that you cant make verbal complaintsthen ignore complaintstoxic service that hopefully bring them down and allows companies with better service to take their place in the marketAEG you should be ashamed of how you treat customers, you have no USP so get grip

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. After my 10th email, i finally managed to get someone else to look into the issue, and they agreed to issue a full refund. The escalation process wasn't easy, and in the end i think they decided that if i wasn't going to give up, it wasn't worth their while continuing - plus it was pretty clear they had no justification for avoiding a refund..

still no response from AEG to my latest emails

A repair man came to fix the door on my oven. Said it couldn't be fixed, charged $155, and left.

So i got another repairman who fixed it in 10 minutes (just needed to glue the glass front back on). When i complained they said parts weren't available. When i pointed out that nothing was broken and no parts were needed they thne said that the oven was old and if the repairman broke something it couldn't be replaced. And trying to talk to someone other than the frontline operator in customer service was impossible.

Promises to call back were never met. Dreadful company.

I purchased a washing machine from AEG months ago.It is still under their AEG with a two year warrantee .Well so much for that it is a waste of time getting in touch with these people..i would say DO NOT BUY these products .While still under guarantee the door panel came away from the machine.This I am told is NOT COVERED,Daylight robbery in my opinion. Because this draw front is plastic it is not covered by the warrantee .So this warrantee is worth less.It is used twice a week and there are no children so it has only ever been operated by an adult.I had a Zanuzzi before this for 10 years with NO PROBLEMS ever.This time I thought I would go for an AEG and upgrade AEG I.

supposedly made in Germany.BIG MISTAKE.It was made in Poland and that to me means cheaply. .I am supposed to pay again for a plastic part which is faulty.

Broken washing machine

Still waiting after 6 weeks for them to repair my washing machine. First guy didn't turn up,second guy came a week later and said computer problem inside machine,part ordered,week later new guy turns up,wrong part ordered. New part ordered,week later new guy turns up,still the wrong part,joke of a company. Hence still waiting and many trips to the laundrette £100 down!!

AEG Lavamat washing Machine - Breaking door lock all the time

I am a single mother raising boys who're very active with sports. I recently purchased a new AEG Lavamat washing Machine. Before that I had an LG which had for jut more than 5 years. I decided to invest in a new one as I didn't want to start experiencing any problems as it was out of warrantee. Well I am starting to regret having bought an AEG. AEG prides itself to be a premium brand. Premium what? I have not experienced that at all. I have had to have my brand new washing machine repaired twice. Same problem door lock. Clearly this can't be. I do not expect t be seating without a washing machine as it's waiting t be repaired, once again. I see there's many reviews on the same problem on this particular model. So if this is a manufacturing fault. What is AEG doing about it? I can't afford to be seating with such problems on a new washing machine. Please help!

I would not buy AEG. The first one was faulty and the second one broke down after 2 years and 4 months, which is only 4 months after it was out of warrantee (very convenient for AEG).

I think the company and its engineering has gone down the drain and is no longer should be considered as a German built product. Very upset with them that is paying £600 for only two years use.

The ovens controls are not intuitive and the default settings are not customisable. Last time I buy anything from AEG.

My fridge / freezer stopped fonctionning out of the blue, fortunately I am still under warranty. Technician was sent 2 weeks later, he came but realized he needs to order a part, he had to reschedule another appointment 10 days later. The technician come again and realized he needs another specific part, an appointment is rescheduled few days later... Technician never show up and impossible to join them online : +50 mins on hold I took my day off for nothing, still can't buy groceries... AEG has one of the worst customer service ever.

Purchased an oven less than 6 months ago, door is faulty and came off in my hand while cooking. Cannot get the customer service team to deal with this. One engineer visit did not resolve the issue, refusing to replace the oven until it is written off but cannot get through to the team to discuss as keep getting cut off. Worst customer service ever received. W

I purchased an AEG 9 kg washing machine in Nov 17. I was very specific about my needs in a new washing machine. I was promised a 3 year warranty and 24 hour service turnaround The washing machine is not flexible the shortest 9kg wash is 2 hours, there is a 5kg wash for 20 minutes and another for 60 mins but will not take 2 king size sheets or bath sheets which means that I have to do 2 loads. It will not spin them dry properly. If I use the 9 kg I can only wash 1 sheet at a time but still will not spin dry properly. machine has a separate spin cycle that doesn't spin properly either. Wool cycle will only take 1 jumper and not spin dry still wet. The machine has stopped 3 times on the wash spin cycle and the last time will not work any more. It does not do a good wash. My clothes are not dirty, they have just been worn for a day, so expect not to have to do long washes. The machine only good feature is the steam cycle. Tried to ring the 1300 line for a service call could not get through, 3 times I tried so emailed customer care and it took 24 hours for the first email which told me that would be in contact soon, how long is soon, 3 days is soon, the second email told me to undo filter - I can read a manual and tried but I do not have strength to turn the *** and the door opener is flimsy piece of plastic. I have currently been without a washing machine now for 5 days and had to hand wash clothes. This machine is the worst machine I have ever had. the "customer care" is not customer care I have taught customer service.
