Verified ReviewerSwindled out of my money, forced to pay for parts that I did not want.
My service advisor was Dimitrios Kouvaris #110467. On 2-23-21 I was forced to pay for parts that I asked the advisor to cancelled.
It was not even an hour before the order was placed, and I was told I had to pay for it because it already shipped. I purchased my car at advantage Hyundai in 2010, and I have been a loyal customer since then. I have spent a lot of my hard earned money with this dealership, to have a car service adviser tell me there is no manager available to reverse the charges, then the next excuse was the parts shipped already. Women are always preyed upon.
If I did not pay he threatened to keep my vehicle. When you come in with an older model vehicle, out of warranty beware!!! That is there money maker! Proceed with caution.
Just from the multi point inspection they came back with a $4,700 dollar bill for what service my vehicle may need. I went in for transmission service, left with my car sounding the same. I paid for another issue that I needed, but did not want the caliper kit service, by force, by force I am out of $523.08. Needless to say, I was going to stay in the Hyundai family for my next purchase, but I will never spend another dime of my money with them.
No one likes to be swindled especially when you know someone is feeding you *** All Companies Charge a restocking fee for part cancellations, but that wasn't the case his commission was. He said only a Manager can reverse the charges, but conveniently no manger was on duty. Have you ever heard of such nonsense? They tried to charge me a separate charge for a brake flush when its already included in the price of the caliper kit.
$90.97 for labor, and 88.98 part. They expect me to be a fool. I was there from 10:30am to 4:45pm. I did not eat a full meal for the day and I have to waste more of my day writing an exhausting review.
This shouldn't have happened.
My complaint will not end here. Signed pissed off customer!

DISHONESTY AT IT'S BEST !!!!!!
I brought my 2003 Santa Fe in for the chassis recall on April 7, 2016. I was told it would take a week for the parts and repairs to be complete.
I picked up my vehicle on April 14. Long story short, while replacing the chassis parts they cracked the transmission case. When I called them to ask about the damage they caused they plain out lied stating the vehicle came in like that. The crack is new and was not there before.
I waited for Hyundai USA to get involved. I thought they could help resolve this. Boy was I wrong. I was told the owner owns 5 other Hyundai dealerships.
I only gave star because I couldn't post my review unless I did. I am taking this all the way.

Advantage Hyundai, Hicksville, N.Y., Adios
I have not been back to Advantage Hyundai since Mike Kiley and Richard Scorraai screwed my son out of his free oil changes because of their immaturity. We bought 2 vehicles from Advantage and now I've become a Dodge owner.
I would NEVER return to Advantage EVER!
the way this dealer treated me is wrong! I called Hyundai USA who were just as useless, adios Hyundai.
Hyundai USA should have mediated between Advantage and mw to come to a resolution.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Immature Service Manager Mike Kiley
I had problems after purchasing a 2010 Hyundai Elantra from Advantage Hyundai and the service manager Mike found a incorrect Autocheck report. Mike sent me nasty e-mails all in Caps indicating he was mad because I complained.
I paid for the service due to the incorrect Autocheck report. Two months later I brought my son's 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport to Advantage for his free oil change. When Richard Spittalar called me and advise me the car was done he stated that my son's oil changes are over. I had 8 months left on a two year free oil changes.
I advised Rich that this was retaliation from Mike and I e-mailed Advantage's owner stating that I would not return to a corrupt dealership. Simone and Chris Titesta from Advantage whom I purchased my son's car both stated we will talk to Mike and get back to you, your a good customer. I have not received a call back after speaking to both. I deleted my service account from Advantage and signed up with a real dealership.
The topper is since I e-mailed BABY Advantage that I will not return they keep harassing me by sending me unwanted e-mails from my account in their file. I will NEVER return to Advantage and they CAN KEEP the remaining oil changes.
Aggravated Harassment through electronic means is illegal and I complained to BBB and others. NEVER GO TO RIPOFF ADVANTAGE HYUNDAI, HICKSVILLE, N.Y....

Verified Reviewer | Bronx, New YorkWORST DEALERSHIP/SERVICE EVER!
Since this incident has occurred, Advantage Hyundai has taken care of all issues and the problems discussed below were solved quickly and efficiently. Not only has the dealership made sure the problems were rectified, and they apologized for the way their customer service person spoke to us. We appreciate their efforts in making the situation right and thank you for your time spent solving our issues.
Thank you Advantage Hyundai!
This dealership is an absolute disgrace! I am disgusted with them and their ability to accurately fix and resolve issues.
The day we bought our used car, not even a year ago today, they took over 8 hours to have it ready for us. Not only that but they scratched the drivers side door while doing so. We were assured that it would be taken care of and to come back next week when they would have availability in the service department. SInce then the car and this dealership have been nothing but *** on wheels, literally.
They still have yet to repair the scratch, saying it was "too deep" for their service department to repair. Not only that about a month ago we heard a weird sound coming from the engine. We brought it in, they said they found nothing. Three weeks later the sound is 10x louder, we brought to a private mechanic they told us there was ABSOLUTELY something wrong with the car.
After charging us for the diagnostic fee and telling us there was nothing wrong with the car, when in fact there was, we brought the car back two days ago and asked for a refund on the previous diagnostic fee since, there was in fact a problem with the car, which needless to say was covered by warranty. In any case they kept our car for three days to fix a loose motor mount. I went to pick up the car today, they drove it up to me after waiting for ten minutes. I got in and did not hear the sound and drove off after paying for the work to be done.
When I got home I shut off the car, and then decided to turn it back on to make sure I did not hear the sound. Low and behold, the car will not start.
They are not helpful, they are rude, they have yet to fix the mistakes they have caused. I am absolutely DISGUSTED!
AVOID Advantage Hyundai !!!!!!
After almost being killed in my Hyundai Elantra while driving the car and the control arm breaking off under the car, I brought it to Advantage Hyundai to have it repaired. They replaced the control arm as it was part of a recall I was unaware of.
They also added a fuel filter as it was also part of a recall. When I got the car back, it needed a flex pipe, because they broke it and are denying they did so. The car now sounds like a pack of Harley Davidson motorcycles, and I'll have to get it fixed out of pocket, thanks to Advantage Hyundai. They are without question the worst repair shop around.
Consumer Affairs and the State Commissioner will also know about this. Buyer beware.

Verified Reviewer | Holtsville, New YorkAdvantage Hyundai Horrible Service Department
Hicksville, New York - March 22, 2011 - Looking to buy a new car? Does you son or daughter need a good quality new or used automobile? Then you'll probably want to AVOID! Advantage Hyundai at all costs.
Having written an extensive article on the experience of Susan Mezzapesa of Levittown, N.Y. Advantage Hyundai dealership located at 430 Plainview Rd in Hicksville, NY. truly lived up to their name and immediately took full advantage when they realized this customer lacked any real automobile knowledge. Advantage Hyundai sold her a 2007 Hyundai Sonata, but they failed to informed her that the car's previous owner was Hertz Rent-A-Car. Hertz rented this car out to an unkown number of customers who then proceeded to drive almost 27,000 miles all in less than one year. Carfax shows that no maintenance was ever recorded on this car.
When sold to Advantage Hyundai on 8/2007 in an auction. CarFax comments that Advantage Hyundai preformed an Oil and filter change, rotated 2 tires and preforming a so called "Maintanence Inspection" and it is noted on CarFax that they did indeed washed and detailed the automobile. Hyundai claims to do a 150 point inspection, when contacted for details and if this was done on this car, we were informed by them that "As per New York State laws we are only required to have the car pass a NYS Car Inspection"
Hyundai claims when the car was brought in for service on 11/11/2010 the car was "Gunked" up so bad that they could not work on it and proceeded to do only a regular oil change. They informed Mrs. Mezzapesa she was at fault and Advantage Hyundai will gladly replace the engine for a fee of between $5,000 to $7,000. She refused the new engine offer and Advantage Hyundai failed to take any of a dozen steps to address this "Gunk" problem. Simply googeling "How to remove Car Engine Gunk" will show multiple ways that this problem could have been easily rectified.
At no time did Advantage Hyundai inform this customer of the dangerous and possibly life threatening situation she was in. A car with an engine that was 100% guaranteed to seize at any moment could easily cause a loss of control if the vehicle was traveling at highway speeds or it could have left her standard during any number of snow storms that NY were hit with during this past winter. A seized engine will no longer produce heat and with temperatures well below zero, If rescuers were unable to reach her car due to snow filled streets this could have easily turned into a matter of life and death.
This car's engine seized in January of 2011. This is type of engine failure is covered under the Hyundai warranty, but Advantage Hyundai and Hyundai's corp 1-80*-663-**** customer service line claimed because of missing or undocumented oil changes they were voiding the warranty. According to multiple source both outside and inside Advantage Hyundai the amount of Gunk inside the engine could never have been caused by a missed oil change. It is much more logical that this problem was caused by the wear and tear placed on the new car when it was driven almost 27,000 in less than one year by Hertz customers.
Advantage Hyundai failed to address this engine issue and placed Mrs. Mezzapesa and her family at grave risk, because the warranty was only valid for 60,000 miles, and according to the CarFax records on 1/6/2011 the date of this cars last visit to Advantage Hyundai's service department the mileage was 59,214.

Dude, they fixed two things for you free of charge. I don't see how they would be a bad company because they fixed two things that would have probably cost you over $1,000 in the end and you have to pay for one thing out of pocket.
Sounds like a good deal to me. Yes, they may have broken it and aren't taking responsibility for it, and that's wrong, but to call them bad overall isn't right when they fixed two things for you for no fee unless you had a deductible. If you did, then I withdraw my statement, but it sounds like they were trying to help.
Yeah, they screwed up, but look at it from the positive angle. :)
