Advantage Gold Realty & Christina Moeller

These people deserve 0 stars. We rented a house at 190 Pine Hollow Rd in Holly Ridge and the worst part of our experience was the homeowner, Christina Moeller - an incredibly difficult person with an equally irritating accent. It is my suggestion that no one EVER rent from her. Our lease said that pets were negotiable, but when we asked permission to have a Yorkie, she said no. If you won't allow a dog that's 5-7 pounds, then you aren't pet negotiable. The rental company also gave her our phone number without our permission, and she called us expecting that we would pay the $15 dollars to forward her mail to her. Also, when we were moving out, we asked for the name of the paint color (which our lease says we are entitled to) so that we could do some touch ups, but Christina wouldn't provide it. She apparently had the information, but didn't want to give it to us because she wanted a professional to do the work.

From the day we filled out an application, one of the employees was particularly rude, but we ignored it because we didn't think I'd have to interact with her much; unfortunately, we had to talk to this hateful woman on many occasions. We talked to the owner of the company before we moved out, and he said that three other people THAT DAY had complained about this employee. This employee no longer works at AGR, but the fact that she was allowed to work there for almost a year shows the type of person that the management will employ.

On our move-in form, we noted that we had a frog infestation problem, but they never sent anyone out to fix it. When we complained again, they said that we had waited too long and we had to pay for the exterminator ourselves (we had turned in the move-in form on time). We submitted a work request for the HVAC and they never came to fix that, either. We eventually stopped asking them to fix things in the property because they would never actually come.

We just received the "move out reconciliation form," and we noticed that we were charged for things that were wrong with the house when we moved in (the house was not in very good shape at move-in). I talked to the inspector, Hope, but she doesn't seem to care that we are being overcharged. She also had the audacity to tell us that we were filthy renters, even though the owner of the company told us that the house looked great when he came by to do the yearly inspection. The only reason the house wasn't clean when we moved out was because we had made prior arrangements for AGR to take the cleaning fees out of our deposit (for which we were unknowingly charged an extra fee).

The only bright spot of our time with AGR was the owner, Mr Mayes, who was very friendly and helpful. After speaking with Mr Mayes, we were not planning on writing such a scathing review, but the problems continued. Unfortunately, even he couldn't make up for the unacceptable attitudes of his employees and the homeowner. We have since gone back to our previous rental company, ABA, and are having a much better experience.

Bottom line: DO NOT RENT FROM AGR, and especially not from Christina Moeller.
