Advanta is a bank holding company. It was founded in 1951 by Jack Alter who was a schoolteacher in Philadelphia. Initially the banking corporation was founded as a company offering personal loans to teachers. At the present time Advanta financial company operates two banks, which focuse mostly on the small business credit cards and related services. These banks are Advanta Bank Corp and Advanta National Bank. The company was ranked as one of the best companies to work for in the United States by Fortune Magazine.
Besides, Advanta is one of the most rapidly growing financial services companies.

Advanta provided the worst service I have received from a bank in ten's of years. I had the same experince with it is all the customers fault, advanta doesn't make mistakes. they always hold mailed checks to make sure they can collect fees, very consitant behavior of advanta. Advanta made a mistake, on posting a payment. The account holder enforcement people called every hour to harrass becuase of their mistake. When I talked to them they were rude and told me it was my problem and that I would have to file a written dispute. They repond to written disputes with a form letter that it is not advanta's problem. Then when I call to ask for help, get the rude people who just want you to pay provide no help or service.
After sending 3 letters of dispute, advanta sends 3 letters stating to file a letter of dispute. the whole time you deal with the written dispute advanta requires, the enforment team punihses you with hourly calls of why you have a dispute over a small amount of $125.
Ever since advanta had the FDIC take over and ripped USA for millions the attitude is abuse the customer, what can a customer, they took their money and dumped the business.
If you have the opportunity to get away from this bank do it. The will take your money and then abuse for letting them take it, I am still shocked by how abusive the people who answer the phone will treat someone that is part of the system that let's them get paid.
Yes, I'm with you. I just had a conference call with my bank and Advanta yesterday with a very rude Customer Disservice Rep.
She agreed to reverse the late fee. I thanked her for that(which I shouldn't need to thank somebody for something they're supposed to do) and I told her that she was trying to imply that it was my fault and it wasn't. I scheduled my payment to be made two days before the due date. They cleared the check a week later!
She ended by saying "if this happens again, you're going to have a problem." Excuse me? I felt like reaching through the phone.
I responded "No, you will have a problem when I contact my lawyer!" Unbelievable. If I see a 30 days late on my credit report or have any more issues with these jokers, my lawyer will definitely get a call.
