What I don't understand is how this software is THE TOP RATED utilities software in many review sites? Are the sites getting a payoff? I Fully agree with your review!! I supposedly bought the 29.95 version of their software and needed to call them to get it "activated"! Even though I usually follow the rule "Paranoia is your Friend" adage for computer security, I really screwed up and let this guy remote access to my machine. When he said he could fix my problem while he did some social engineering techniques on me but couldn't do it, he transferred me to his "manager" who tried to sell me their service for $299. When he wouldn't take "NO!!" for answer I simply pulled my Internet connection from the back of my computer and hung up. When I tried to re-start my computer it was basically toast. After several attempts, I eventually restored to the latest previous restore point, ran McAfee and Norton utilities on it and little by little got is running pretty normally again... myself without their help!! $299, REALLY!? I repeat... What I don't understand is how this software is THE TOP RATED utilities software in many review sites?

I bought the ASO V3 this morning. It found 17,000+ duplicate files on my system. However, you have to check each individual box in order to get rid of them. I phoned the tech support and ask how I could get rid of the duplicate files all at one time. First, it took 3 phone calls to get through to them after being on hold over 40 minutes each time. The male tech which I had an extremely difficult time understanding, told me to to go to a website called Cyber PC Experts.I kept trying to tell him to please slow down as I could not understand him and he tried telling me it was my phone! I have a brand new Galaxy S3. I was trying to figure out why this was tech support for the software I had just purchased. He was EXTREMELY RUDE, and told me he will help me as he gained access to my computer, but did not tell me what he was doing. I asked if he can get rid of the 17,000 duplicate files and tells me to be quiet becasue I am not listening to him. I wanted my question answered and he refused to do that. Simple question; can he get rid of all those duplicate files at one go? It was a yes or no answer. He goes on about how a technician will have to manually repair it. Then he asked me if I do online banking or shopping and what the last thing I bought was and the amount. Really? I refused to answer and when he starts yelling at me, I hung up on him and turned off my computer so he could no longer gain access to anything else. He NEVER addressed the original question I had or the reason I was calling. He went to the Event manager in Windows XP and tried telling me that that was the problem.I explained that I just wanted to get rid of the duplicate files at one go, but he refused to talk about the software I just purchased or what it does. He was screamming at me on the phone telling me what a bad listener I was. I AM THE F****cking customer. I paid for a service/software I did not receive.I don't have to listen to squat of what he has to say. Who does he think he is to tell me what to do? I have notified the bank,filing a police report and the BBB. I want to be covered in case these rude,ignorant frauds try to steal from me as he told me my computer was very old and vulnerable. I made a mistake and let them have access to my computer as they led me to beleive they would delete the 17,000 duplicate files instead of being forced to delete them indiviually.Instead, as I asked him what is he was doing and he kept saying wait a moment as he is looking at everything BUT what I asked for.I told the guy, this is not where my problem lies nor does it address my question. He treated me like I was ***!! It was a simple question...Can you delete the 17,000+ duplicate files at one time. He refused to answer.He just went on a rampage on how everything can be fixed but a technician has to pick up my computer and do it manually and I told him I am not paying for that.I just spent $29.99! That is what the ASO was for.I decided it was time to shut down my computer and the internet to protect myself.DO NOT BUY THIS software! There is NO tech support! Only a scam! (And you wonder why there is so much prejudice against Indians!!!! People like this make you continually form a bad impression and if there are any decent and good Indians, its ruined for people like this!!)

They pulled a *** ammyy scam on me. They keep hanging up when I call. I hope they rot. Do not be fooled by these pieces of human garbage. Herman St is garbage. I should have done better research. It says that I need 100 words, and believe me I have more than that I would like to say about these people, but they are not really worth me typing that many curse words. In short, do not get scammed. With any luck these *** will die in a very violent, very horrific plain crash. If we are really lucky maybe it will be in the ocean with a fire, and they will burnt, beaten, drowned, and left for fish food.

Warning!The above, (product of Herman St and systweak.com) doesnt work, the log in key window doesnt even appear! and nobody responds to online chat! When you phone for support, you are told by a rude pushy salesman that you need to buy a package costing up to $162 (the software itself costs between $23 - #39.) to fix the operation of the computer, which is exactly why you bought the 'Advanced System Optimizer' in the first place! Dont be misled by the 'microsoft gold accredited partner'. That means nothing. Apparently its a certificate that is bought, and there is absolutely no quality control. Microsoft I was told by their own coordinator in the U.K is not interested as to the conduct and ethics of its 'partners'. So dont get conned! Avoid paying money just to be lied to, blackmailed and set up!

Advanced System Optimizer 3 - poor service
After 9 months on a 12 month program, I got an error that said that the program wanted to shut down in an unusual way and to contact the program administrator. After trying several things that the support folks suggested they told me to contact live chat which is in India and there support hours are 10.5 hours ahead of EST. I tried twice to start a chat and got the message that they weren't available at that time and to leave an email. It has been over a week an nobody will answer my emails anymore. They advertise that that they have 24/7 support when you buy the program but it appears that this is just a come on to get you to buy the program.
