They omit to inform you that these clutches may wear or ruin your Motor Mounts, CV Joints and other Drive Train Parts. Also talking to Eric on the phone at ACT, he said he did not recommend this clutch for the street and that they do not recommend using their flywheel which none of this is told anywhere.

I purchased it through Autoanything, and they show the ACT warranty as 90 days, but told me on the phone that the 90 days is their warranty but it reads, "ACT backs your Heavy-Duty Street Clutch Kit with a 90-day warranty". But ACT's website states one year. There warranty is useless. They expect you to have the clutch removed, send it back for their inspection and than if they feel it is faulty, then send you a replacement.

All at your expense and they charge an inspection fee I believe of $50.00 What shop is going to leave a car up in the air on a lift with the wheels off and axles hanging, tying up the lift for two weeks, None. Eric also told me that these will chatter when breaking in which is the first 500 miles but mine now has 2000 miles. It chatters so bad and shakes the car and drive-train, if I leave it in, it will end up damaging more than the clutch. Eric already said the flywheel of theirs should not be used because of the thickness or something like this, but I know he said it would make it worse.

You would think that it is best to use all the same manufactures parts if replacing a clutch since common sense would tell you they would work together better than using other brands, but not in their case it seems. In law, this can be considered misleading the public since they do not publish all of this and should do the right thing and pay the labor and parts for a new clutch. I contacted the FTC and Attorney Generals office in CA where they are based but they only take complaints and if they see a pattern, they they may go after them, but most people will not make the effort and just take the loss and don't buy another ACT clutch.

If I was in CA, I would file this in court but being in Maryland, I am not sure if I can as yet, but I am looking into this as well as filing against Autoanything. This clutch is actually Dangerous, so that is a separate and more serious issue, so I need to look into that as well.

I bought this Act Clutch because I wanted a heavy duty clutch and pressure plate since I pulled a small trailer once in a while. Right from the start I Found When taking off you must rev the engine to keep it from stalling and it seems to be shaking the whole drive train apart.

I have driven many cars and trucks with a clutch and none like this. It jerks the engine so bad at times starting off, I believe it will break the motor mounts soon and the CV joints as well. It is not even close to being smooth and in fact I would consider it dangerous to use on the street. I was told by customer service I should not have used there flywheel nor would he recommend this clutch for normal street use.

I bought this through Autoanything and they did not have any of this on their website and so far neither company are doing anything to fix this problem and do not believe they will. Act will do nothing and wants me to have it removed and send it back so they can inspect it and see if it's their defect while I have it up in the air at some shop. I would not put one of these clutches back in my car even if they paid the labor. They should pay all labor and for a OEM clutch and rewrite what this clutch is for or should be used in.

My wife cant drive the car now because it stalls so bad and chatters the same and it is an accident waiting to happen. I used to rebuild automatic transmissions as well as install clutches years ago and never have I see anything like this. This is everything but a street clutch and I do not recommend buying this or any of their clutches because of there customer service and attitude. They say there top priority is customer satisfaction.

I would say that is the last thing on there mine. I will have no choice but to have it removed before it damages other parts of the drive-train. I tried to write a review on both of there sites and it will not allow me to. ACT has no reviews, which now I see why.

It had a place to write one but will not let you send it. I found this similar on Autoanything. They have a few reviews and all five star but no where to write your own review. If you look for other reviews on ACT or AUTOANYTHING you will see many of the same complaints people have using an ACT street Clutch.

Your hot rod people may like it but will normally say, it was great but I though it would last longer. Some got as little as 8000 miles and who knows what other damage it caused in there drive-train. On two occasions I had to back up a steep street and both times I could smell the clutch burning so bad I did not thing it would last to get home. The burning smell stayed with the car for a long time before I could not smell it.

This is in a 2008 Subaru Forester and I just sold my 2003 Forester and it had 90k miles and never a problem with the OEM clutch. I also noticed on AUTOANYTHING the warranty which they said is directly from ACT and it states it is 90 days but on ACTs site it says One Year. AutoAnything has very little information on there website on this clutch and should not be selling it and I feel are just as responsible as ACT. This is at least a $2000.00 Mistake and if left in the car may be even more.

Starting off at a light, it would not surprise me if your car did not run in the back of another car because it will either stall or jump forward. Do Not Buy a CLUTCH from ACT or AUTOANYTHING because they do not stand behind it.

If there is a problem with there clutch, they expect you to have it removed buy you or a shop, pack it up and send it to them for inspection and if they feel it is there fault, than they will send a new clutch back. To find a shop that will tie up a rack for a week or more while you wait for them to decide is ludicrous.

I had two shops tell me the same thing and even ACT told me I should not have used there flywheel, but it does not say this when buying a street clutch. They also told me it takes about 500 miles of normal road use before it will stop chartering, but mine has about 2000 miles and still chatters.

This kind of warranty may be ok if this was for racing, but for everyday driving, you need your car. On top of that, it started having problems in less than 400 miles and I took it to two shops to confirm what I already knew.To remove and r3eplace this clutch, it is about 1500.00 I would never buy or recommend an ACT clutch to anyone, and when this burns out, which I am sure will be less than an OEM clutch, OEM is what I will put in.
