I brought a friend to shop who is elderly and uses food stamps. we travel 35 miles one way to shop at Adams in Middletown New York.

This is the second time weve been to Adams and they wont take her food stamps. They keep saying that their machine is down and their system is not up-to-date. Personally I think its a discrimination against people who are on food stamps, or any kind of social services they have no signs outdoor saying they dont take food stamps just little tiny ones that are on the register.

After shopping for an hour and 20 minutes and checking out, they declined her card because they said EBT cards have been declined and their store. DISCRIMINATION!!!

Cons:
  • I have to travel to shop at adams at least 35 miles from my home

Preferred solution: A gift certificate would suffice as my friends purchase was $65 and we drove 70 miles round-trip to go to Adams

User's recommendation: If you are on food stamps or have snap benefits, call them before you go to the store. They make you feel like a fool
