This is my 2nd attempt to contact Acura regarding concerns that I have with my RDX. The 1st time was good but I have not received any response this time.
Very disappointing.
All I wanted to know was how do I activate my ambient lighting. I would suspect that my Premium Elite model should have this feature.
User's recommendation: Keep after them
Not happy with my 2022 tlx
Thi is my 7th acura and it's the first time I am disappointed. The car is to long ,to wide and there is no space to seat in the back.On top of it,it consume a lot of gas.Acura says 10 liters for 100 kilometers. Not true,it consumes 14.1 liters.a big difference. The previous tlx was much better on every aspect.cant wait to change.

The General Manager of the Richmond BC store called me condescending during our conversation. He kept interrupting me & would not allow me to explain the situation.
He also has issues with getting back to customer.
Situation was/is; During a hospital fiasco the primary key fob was lost. I was using second fob for quite a while after as my husband passed away.
My husband always said have a backup, he was a retired fire fighter & always wanted me to be safe. So I called Katherine at Richmond store & she quoted $450 for fob. I need it, Ill take it.
When I got there to drop off vehicle she said oh itll be $505. Ok so $50 bucks more. Hmmm I need it, Ill take it. I ended up paying close to $750.
Nice way to do business with someone that was in mourning. Seriously? I wasnt thinking & paid the bill in my daze. They took total advantage of me.
Then the fob stopped working almost immediately. They replaced the battery & said its ok. I used it for less than a few weeks. It still wasn't working.
They finally replaced it after much back & forth. Then the fob they replaced it with has barely worked. I cant chance it. It had issues right away.
I went in June to get my money back & return fob as I am now a widow & feel unsafe with both the products failing.
The general manager basically told me Im stuck with it now & he doesnt care that it doesnt work.he said use it or dont its yours now. Nice, right?
I am so disappointed as a person who tries to give people & companies the benefit of the doubt.
I now have a product they say works according to their computer. Guess what.? Their computer made a mistake with the first fob too when they said it worked fine.
Now Im betting they never replaced the first fob & just lied about it.
Since Ive been using my second fob I still havent had to replace batteries.
They are original batteries. Why have both replaced fobs not kept a battery charge when they arent even being used? Interesting. I just cant trust it for my safety.
And Acura doesnt care if I feel safe or not.
They have stopped helping me.
But again, for a manager that is suppose to remain professional calling me condescending was the last straw. Im flabbergasted at the treatment Ive been given. I dont feel safe at all.I feel like Acura is taking advantage of the fact Im now a widow.
Well shame on them.
If I could give a zero rating for this company I would. They just dont care if someone feels safe.
- Eric the stores manager is very offensive
- Took full advantage of my situation
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Don’t deal with the Richmond BC Acura store. He doesn’t care if you’re safe or not.

Not a satisfying customer after 4 years of being a strong supporter of Acura!
A C faulty partsleaking at 2 or 3 areas along line how often did I use AC in 3 1/2 years. Never advised that there was a problem with back window that shattered to pieces a few months ago and had wanted me to pay to have it repaired until I saw that it was a big problem with RDX.
Sensor problem while driving to Halifax NS saying car was running hotyeah3 hours away from home in way to dental appointment..worried until I called and I was told to ignore it. On way back, same message appeared.
Never had these issues with Jeep.
Lincoln, miata, RX-7purchased new.. paid in cash!
User's recommendation: Check if recalls and problems with AC.
Waiting for a trailer hitch sensor since I bought it in March / 2021
They told me they have no idea when the part is available! I had a factory installed trailer hitch put on my brand new Acura MDX.
The foot motion activated rear door will not work until the sensor is installed. The dealership said they dont know when its available, so I called acura canada ,who told me they dont know either .
I paid a lot to have that option . Its going on almost 2 years !!!
User's recommendation: Ask ifThey if a trailer hitch sensor is available , overwise your foot activated rear door don,t work
Warranty transfer
Recently moved back to B.C. from the U.S.and wanted to transfer the warranty to Canada.
Had a very frustrating and irritating time trying to provide the 5 documents required. Could not provide a U.S. driver's license, as I had to surrender my Illinois license to obtain my B.C. license.
Two reps I communicated with were of no help whatsoever. Finally, after complaining about this onerous requirement, this situation was quickly resolved by MARK from customer relations. He cut through the bureaucratic fog.
Thanks and many kudos to MARK, customer relations. My kind of guy.

Acura Canada Not Standing Behind Their Product
I have a 2008 MDX Elite which had a recall on the front and rear suspension. The cut off was either 31st December 2016 or 160K whichever occurred first.
Since I had bought this MDX as used, the ownership details were not updated with Acura, I go to know of the recall through another source. I promptly reached out to Acura Canada in October 2016 with my mileage at 168K. Despite repeated requests, Acura refused to honor the recall. I find it rather strange that they would not stand behind their product.
A recall is a recall and an overrun on the mileage by mere 8K smacks of opportunism on Acura Canada's part to save money. To top it all, the person from Acura Canada told me in not so subtle manner that since I do not take it to the dealership on a regular basis, that is the reason for this situation. While I do not want to spend the better part of the day at their workshop for minor stuff such as oil changes etc., my experience with the local dealership also has been far from satisfactory. They are not only over priced but also very callous and indifferent in their dealings.
Suprisinsinlgy, the local dealership never sent me a notice of this recall. I am personally done with Acura and believe that Lexus is not only a better vehicle but they also stand behind their product.
- That they are not willing to stand behind their product
Preferred solution: Honour the recall on the vehicle
Service department at FFUN Auto group in Saskatoon
I was scheduled for a service on my 2013 Acura RDX. Was told I had a loaner vehicle that was one of the workers and was given to me with the low fuel light on.
Was also told that my vehicle would be ready by 1:30p.m. and it was done at 3:30p.m.
Most of my owner information was wrong and had to be changed and I feel that this dealer should not be in the business of sell new vehicles of any kind due to the terrible service, no one I purchased the vehicle from or financed it through was still employed at this dealership. Will never recommend this place to anyone or take my vehicle back to them ever.
Acura MDX 2008 drumming thudding noise from rear
Acura MDX was taken to the dealer thrice for the same problem. First and second attaempt they probably did nothing and returned the SUV. Third attempt they cahnged the dampers.
Sound still persiists when driving below 40kmph on rough roads. This is not acceptable for a 57000 Dollar SUV.
I don't think they can fix the problem.
This is a known issue with MDX 2008,2009,2010 models. When you demo the car they distract you with the superb Mark Levinson music system. No wonder they put the system in to camouflage the suspension sound. This is going to be my first and last Honda.

The original reviewer either, a) Had a *** day and needed to vent about whatever he/she could think of, or b) Is the type of negative personality who will complain about anything.
I've owned an Acura for more than 10 years and have been very impressed with the service department at Acura Centre. To the point that it will influence my next vehicle buying decision in favour of this dealership.
In 10 years of oil changes, regular maintenance and tire changes (no major repairs to a VERY dependable car) I've found the Acura Centre staff to be friendly and helpful. They've never tried to sell extra, unneeded repairs or quoted fraudulent prices, unlike one particularly awful Nissan dealer in Edmonton I had the misfortune to visit some time ago.
As for complaining about a loaner car needing fuel? Sounds pretty nitpicky for a complaint. How many service departments even provide a loaner car? Some departments for other luxury brands NEVER seem to have loaners when you need them (according to reports from friends and family). Never had this problem with Acura Centre.
I realize this is a lengthy reply to an obscure complaint, which very few people will even read. But I encounter so much poor customer service on a daily basis, and it *** me off to see a business get slammed when they're one of the FEW who do things right.
Acura Centre's service department (FFUN Auto group in Saskatoon) is top notch. I'd recommend them to anyone.
