Active Green and Ross - Warranty
Updated by user Mar 05, 2024

This is for active green and ross not active forever

Original review Mar 05, 2024

I brought my truck in for a gas smell and was told I needed to replace my gas pump. $2300 later the pump was defective and they replaced it again.

The first time they said they charged me 5 hours labour to take the gas tank off yet when replaced it was ready in 3 hours. About a week later the engine light came on and I checked it with a reader and it said fuel tank pressure sensor. I removed the gas cap and cleaned around it and put the cap back on and reset the code. About 2 weeks later it came back on so I took it to back to active green and ross and was told it would be over $800 to replace the sensor.

I said it should be under warranty because fuel pumps come with the pressure sensor. The manager told me it 5akes 7.6 hours to remove the tank and that's when I said you charged me for 5 the first time. He said I'll give you a deal $700. I went to a different garage who charged me a little over $200 ant told me the pumps do indeed come with the sensor and gave me the one replaced which was new.

I went to active green and ross and showed the manager who just said we will agree to disagree. This work should have been covered. In November they left the brake fluid cap off my wife's car along with a rag in the engine which I found in January while replenishing her washer fluid. I let the manager (brad) know who apologized.

When I got my truck back after getting the pump replaced there was a rag under my engine cover starting to wrap around the flywheel. I showed Brad who offered me a free oil change. I got them to change my oil feeling may as well get something for the extra money I had to pay another garage and when I got the truck back they put semi synthetic. My truck takes full synthetic and when I questioned the manager he just said semi synthetic.

I had to get another oil change to put the correct oil to make sure it didn't hurt my engine. U can't believe the customer service at active green and ross on ritzon street in oshawa.

Preferred solution: I agreed to pay the $2900 but feel the $200 I paid to the mechanic plus 2 oil changes I am owed which will never get done there.

User's recommendation: Avoid this place

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. Since posting my review and dealing with head office, the issue with store #149 has been resolved, they have issued an apology for any inconvenience and a full refund, there back in my good books.

Annoying and poor service

Tires were balding prematurely. AG&R sold me new tires and the alignment/balancing was done poorly. My "new tires" have too much wear and tear around the outer edges.

Tony in Streetsville generally is a nice guy but he is annoying and says some unprofessional/thoughtless things.

I Went to Active Green and Ross to have my water pump changed because it was making a noise. I had to wait about two hours until they started the work, and then it took them another hour to finish it.

The mechanic said there was a lot of air trapped inside the system.

They gave me a price for changing my water pump at the beginning, and once the job was over they raised the price by $100 saying it took them longer than expected. They never warned me or even told me anything while they were doing the job, only at the very end.

Truth is Active Green and Ross is consistently incompetent.

Dealt with them 25 years ago in Etobicoke. Sold me overpriced Michelins and spend the entire afternoon to install them.

Then just recently, out of desperation, went to local Thornhill Green & Ross. They installed winter tires without the wheel locks.

Pulled my car out to the parking lot and considered the job done. When I complained, the manager/owner says to me "Maybe you shouldn't come here no more!" LIKE THAT'S THEIR SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.

*** service with *** attitude.
