All they want is to sell their product. No customer service, only 5 technicians for the whole of BC.

AI Highlights
  • - Long wait for service lasting years.
  • - I spent $14,000 on a new stairlift due to disability.
  • - Acorn charged $750 to remove the non-working unit.

Acorn did not tell me from the outset that I would have a long wait for service. After 4 years and a lot of frustration, I had to buy a new stairlift as I'm disabled and can't use the stairs in my home.

Another $14,000, and Acorn could not have cared less. I even contacted the parent company in the UK, and they were uninterested to hear what I had to say. The last gesture from them was to tell me they'd charge me $750 to remove their non-working stairlift. The company I bought from removed it without charge.

They give 24-hour service. I belonged to a Facebook group of unhappy Acorn customers.

User's recommendation: Do not buy from Acorn Stairlifts.

  • - Chair remotes are fixed to the walls.
  • - Emergency brake fails; chair moves on its own.
  • - Tech visit $400; Adrien Jones to call tomorrow.

Wish I could leave 0 stars.

The remotes for the chair are permanently screwed into the walls. The emergency brake doesnt work and the chair will just go up and down in its own without possibility of stopping it.

Extremely dangerous.

Been trying to get a technician here for 4 years. They finally answer and now want 400$ just to walk in the door.

Supposedly someone named Adrien Jones will call me tomorrow. Not exactly holding my breath since Im still waiting for the last service manager to call me back from 2019.

This company is a joke.

User's recommendation: Don’t get one if you value the life of the person using it.

Acorn Stair Lift - Poor Customer Service

AI Highlights
  • - Custom Acorn stair lift recently installed and under a year old.
  • - 5-7 day service wait; only two techs cover the Vancouver lower mainland GVRD.

Recently installed custom Acorn stair lift. Less than a year old.

First purchase, and first service call. Never again with this company. We have to wait 5-7 days for a service call from only available 2 service techs (that also serve as sales reps) for the ENTIRE Vancouver lower mainland GVRD. Are you kidding me??!!

Overworked service techs from what the rumours are. None-the-less, unacceptable when you pay $$$$ for one of these and have a senior that uses one of these lifts multiple times daily. Avoid them like a plague and find another reputable stair-lift company. I would HIGHLY recommend you obtain a detailed service term written into your sales agreement should you deal with these people.

Other comments from other dissatisfied previous users/ buyer are pretty clear. Unfortunately, the senior family member that purchased this was unable to review this company and its other dissatisfied reviews before the purchase.

Cons:
  • Customer service is terrible 5to7 days to assess problem

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
