and I have had dates there regularly. Having used a good dating site for months, I didn't know how fraudulent dating sites could be.

I don't know why AS used the word "academic" in their name. You can hardly find anyone with higher education degree, but there are a lot of people who can't even spell their job title.

I thought I had cancelled my membership, but they charged me for another year. It was a very complicated task to really cancel and stop these scoundrels from pilfering money from my bank account.

I have had full membership to academic singles . And I found a partner on academic singles so I cancelled my membership.

But the way academic singles work my profile is still active even though I have cancelled it. So I have men contacting me. It is wasting their time and mine. And now my partner has spilt up from me .

Because he thinks I am actively looking at men. So academic singles are not helping to keep healthy relationships going.

I was lead to believe l was joining Academic Singles for a one month fee, yet when l looked at my statement today l was charged $264 which is most likely for a yearly subscription. I did NOT want a yearly subscription, nor was l expecting to PAY this astronomical amount!!!

I want you to remove my details on line and refund me back my money.

I feel like l have been mislead into believing what l was purchasing. I was conned!

I have been contacted by annemare.k.10@***.com. Who was very enthusiastic. I made a poor decision and gave the contact my email and phone number. I then got suspicious because she did not respond to questions about her about her supposed local area. She also made excuses not to meet. I have also received emails form 40 -50 year olds Ellie and Brandy who are in their 40s and I am in my 70s . One of which talked about business and so I am thinking they are *** Also as a retired academic I would not think a young retail assistant or someone who has little grasp of the English language would be a good match. In other words the academic singles is not academic and has an algorithm for matching that is totally shot. I think this is a very unsafe site. It is only a matter of time before somones identity is stolen. If this hasnt happened already.

I suspect this email is invalid and owned by academic singles. But I shall be taking this further. Also I tried to show my proof of purchase but you did nt give me one and you would not accept my file showing my bank account. Yes I am getting the picture

The title leads you to believe that you may meet like minded academics. A misleading platform, an international company.

I want to cancel my subscription. I have been trying for a month with page always having technical issues.

This has been an ongoing issue. There is no phone support.

Hello I opened up the dating website Hitch, and believed I paid a $10 fee for a month. I have actually been charged $246.88 from academic singles website which I never opened and never agreed to. I demand this Money back asap and for you to let me deactivate my account.

March 2017 signed up for Academic Singles believed to cost 19.98 but instead 79.90 was taken. Payment information was deliberately misleading.

As soon as realised how much they had taken (this information is not auto-generated) I asked them to return payment and cancel subscription. I also wrote to info@***.com.au who provided positive review of company but no answer. I complained to credit card company. I have been advised to speak to Fair Trading.

This is a scam of an organisation based in Luxembourg hence redress is limited. There are plenty of other negative reviews about them I have since seen so I am just adding my voice to urge people not to use them.
