His name is Khalid Sabri. He resides at 314 N Cornell Avenue in Villa Park,IL. Start August 2020 Sabri could not let my partner Michael and I move in before he was on us about his FENCE. Thats when the harassment started. We had a nice picnic table and chairs near his fence and he told us to move it because it was touching his fence when we started moving in to 324 N Cornell Ave. Unit D in Villa Park, IL. Personally, we didnt care and respected his property. 2021 Village of Villa Park adopts a chicken co-op program. 50 residents are allowed to have 6 hens. They must apply for the permit and have the coop inspected before purchasing hens. Roosters, turkeys, peacocks, goats, geese or ducks are code violations. SUMMER JULY 2021 1.Sabri had been repairing his roof for the third time. He took a leaf blower and blew all the roofing nails and debris from his roof onto my flower garden. 2.Mike and I had been outside spending what we thought was a quiet Sunday outside. Thats when the sawing, hammering and loud power tools were turned on. I turned to Mike and said There goes the peace and quiet. A very loud *** YOU was shouted from his yard. I became extremely upset. Sabris wife came through the fence gate that opens into their yard. She started asking us our names. I told her we dont have to tell you anything. What do you want? She started profusely apologizing for her husbands behavior. She said he was having a bad day. She stated she did not want any trouble and I agreed. Things quieted down for a time after that. SPRING 2022 Continuous hammering, sawing, and use of power tools from early morning until 8 or 9pm every day. No visible building permit was displayed. He claimed he was again fixing his fence. He was building a chicken coop and turning his property into a barnyard. Then came the 8 or more chickens and a rooster. The village was contacted by myself 3 times before anything was done. He had no permit from the village for the chickens or the coop. The lady at the village office informed me she had his application on her desk. I told her too late he already has the chickens and the coop. The loud noise became worse. Sabri called Key I & M (Key Investment & MGMT Co) the property manager and made up a bunch of lies to try to get us kicked out. I informed Key I&M of all the harassment since day one with Sabri. He then posted Warning premises under Video Surveillance signs all on his fence and aimed cameras at our windows and doors. Another incident involving an apartment building outside cable box. The lock had been broken to the outside cable box. Several times Mike and I picked it up and replaced it. After the 3rd time it was again on the ground I took pictures. I contacted Comcast and requested that they come out and replace the damaged box.Sabri stood in his yard and laughed. I then took before and after pictures. I duct taped the box and took more pictures. To date May 11, 2023 the box has remained duct taped. Several incidents occurred as the harassment continued. Sabri would stand and stare at me. I stared back and Sabri said Can I Help You? I ignored him. Her came through his gate at me on another occasion and stood in a threatening manner with a very mean look on his face. I looked at him and walked away. Another incident happened after I reported him to the village again for the rooster. I had work in the morning and kept getting woken up by a rooster crowing. Sabri then put a *** collar on the poor animal so it could not crow. The village finally caught him. Sabri then lied to the village inspector and said he didnt know it was a rooster. If he didnt know it was a rooster why would he put a *** collar on? I could pinpoint the exact date that another incident occurred with Sabri. After the village caught him became increasingly more hostile. I caught him red handed taking pictures of our cars. That was the last straw. Mike saw him as well. I called the VPPD. I told Office St. Claire I wanted to sign a complaint. I wish I would have signed a complaint if I knew he was going to continue his ongoing harassment. He told the officer he needed pictures of how we were parking our cars to he could show it to Key I&M. How we park our cars in our private buildings lot is of no concern to him. Since he again stated he was still fixing his fence, I reported him to the village for not having a valid building permit. Everyone must abide by the rules including him. Once again Sabri called Key I&M and made up lies defaming our character. Saturday May 6, 2023 Michael Schultz, my life partner of 25 years, came home after work to find Sabri parked on the property at 324 N Cornell. He told him get the F of this property. He starred at Michael. Michael pulled out his phone and then Sabri finally drove off to his driveway next door. Sunday May 7,2023 Sabri bragging to my neighbor Joan Knadt that he has 16 chickens. Sabri said they are in his garage and he keeps diapers on them. Monday May 8,2023 A lot of the neighbors have consistently told me they distinctly hear a rooster every morning. Again, I went to the village and complained. This would be the 6th time I have complained about Sabri and his barnyard. Not only is his chicken coop 12 feet away from my windows, it stinks. Wednesday May 10, 2023 I was outside talking to Joan Knadt and Sabri said, as loud as he could, We need to get those M.er F..king deadbeats the F out of Villa Park. Thursday May 11, 2023 I felt threatened by Sabri and his words. I went the Villa Park Police Department and made a report with Officer Perkins. I have 4 reports against him in the last year. This man has harassed us for 3 years. He has trespassed, taken pictures of our cars and repeatedly threatened us. Thursday May 11, 2023 A message was left on my phone from Brenda Ortiz. She then proceeded to tell me that the village inspectors were out at the property taking pictures. Sabri claims our little Weber grill was right next to his fence. A Lie. He also accused us of kicking in his fence. I have numerous pictures showing this fence is desperate need of repair. A wind storm would blow it down. Obviously, he has plenty of time and money to build another chicken coop. He has not repaired said fence and I have pictures of the disrepair. Sabri also accused us smoking marijuana and blowing it towards his house. A Lie and defamation of character. Key Investment and MGMT co, the managers of our property, continue to do nothing to stop the constant harassment and threats. They have done nothing to improve our living conditions. When the village came out again to investigate a complaint against Sabri, they started to inspect the properties at 324-328 N Cornell Ave. The building is loaded with mice. The building is sinking. The shingles are rotted and falling off. The soffit and wood are rotted. We have mold in our bathroom, which Michael recaulked, to no avail. He said the wall and everything behind the bathtub is mold. There is also mold growing on the ceiling in the bathtub. When Alex King was still alive he made a lot of promises to the tenants that he would renovate their units. When he passed away in April of 2022 the building was left to rot. Mr. Kings son Richard is finally getting involved after getting fined by the village for disrepair of the property. Sabri calls Brenda Ortiz, the property manager, and makes up horrible defaming lies about us. Brenda has continued to believe every word Sabri says and thinks we are the liars. Continuous contact with Key I&M about all the harassment did no good. If we did all the things he said we did are true then he must have proof as he has warning signs that say This premises under video surveillance. I have found garbage he throws over the fence, a dead squirrel and countless rusted wood screws from his fence. June 1, 2023 A 30 day notice to vacate our premises was taped to our door. We are now being threatened with an eviction because of Sabri. We have excellent credit and have paid our rent on the first of every month. Alex King, god rest his soul, begged Michael and I to move in to this apartment. He said your credit score is excellent I have never had anyone apply for an apartment with me that had that good of a credit score. He also stated he was giving us a 2 year lease. He promised us that if we liked living there he would renew our lease. Brenda Ortiz, Key Investment and MGMT building manager, Khalid Sabri and Richard King are threatening us with eviction. I am 60 years old and a recovering alcoholic. This has sent my whole world upside down. I am in no condition to be forced to move in 30 days. I am unemployed and have no way to come up with a down payment for another apartment. No one will rent to us because Key Investment & MGMT is defaming our character and black listing us. I would be willing to give an in person interview. I would also take a lie detector test to prove nothing of what I am saying is a lie.
