AAA Repairs, Inc. (for ice maker, No. VA, DC, MD area)

AI Highlights
  • Same-day service offered; paid about $300 for a new ice maker.
  • Two days later no ice; tube froze.
  • Third visit replaced water-flow control; issue fixed.

Frozen cascade of water in freezer, called AAA Repairs, same day service, satisfaction guaranteed - repairman arrived & told me ice maker needed replaced, paid just under $300 for new one, and after 2 days, no ice. Repairman returned and noticed the water tube from the water line going into the freezer was frozen solid and he actually said, "I didn't check that when I was here the other day." which made me question the validity of the need for a new ice maker.

He "fixed" the frozen tube (hot water, rolled up paper towel, banging it on my ceramic sink) and left. Within 3 wks or so, same frozen cascade of water in freezer. Called AAA Repair again, asked for a different technician. He arrived & spliced the tube giong into the freezer for the ice maker, assuring me that would take care of the problem.

Shortly thereafter, I had ice but it would not dispense from the feezer door and then the once again FROZEN water tube once again popped loose! Called back, made another appt, had to wait several days due to technician's accident on another job. (hmmm???) When he showed up, he replaced another item that controls the signaled water flow - problem solved - so far!! All of this was extremely time consuming; I ALWAYS had to call them.

They never did any follow-up to schedule appts, etc. even when they said they would. I found out the answering service rep is also one of the "office mgrs" along with a woman who has no business answering the phone, good customer service skills are apparently not something she comprehends and/or is beyond her capibilities, called herself the office mgr, said the owner's name is confidential (?? really?

RED FLAG there), she was an absolute *** nightmare! Lesson learned here - always pay with credit card becuz had that been the case, I would have gotten my cc rep involved for a credit/return. This has been going on since April!

Absolute lousy, lousy operation, in my opinion - extremely unprofessional, half-assed and I'm following this up with a report to the VA BBB. I DO NOT RECOMMEND CALLING THIS COMPANY FOR ANY TYPE OF ASSISTANCE BASED ON MY LENGHTY, FRUSTRATING, TIME CONSUMING AWFUL EXPERIENCE.
