Robbed of over 3,000$ from the Middletown New Jersey AAA mechanic shop

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Spent over $3,000 and my car still drives badly.
  • - They couldn't fix the issues after five visits and five test drives.

These sorry individuals couldn't, or most likely couldn't be bothered to fix my car's issues after spending over $3000! Now I'm out $3000 and my car still drives terribly!!!

The worst part is that I went back probably over five different times trying to get them to fix the problems I brought the car to them for, and they apparently couldn't figure it out even after five test drives from their 'mechanics'. Eventually, I was just done with the clowns there and just took the loss.

Loss:
$3000

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Don't go to any AAA mechanic shop especially the Middletown NJ AAA instead go to a couple different local shops and get different quotes from everyone of them

AI Highlights
  • - 1/2/25: AAA membership $137; on-site testing for battery/alt/starter promised, but the tech only jump-started and refund denied by Makyala.
Updated by user Jan 23, 2025

aaa refused to understand the severity of the problem, and defended the incompetent employee.

Original review Jan 07, 2025

On 1/2/25 I purchased a membership with AAA for $137. Jason, the employee at the Johnson City office stated that the battery, alternator, and starter can be tested on site.

When the technician arrived at the scene, he stated that he can only jump start the car. When I called another office, Makyala, the regional director, refused to provide a refund.

Loss:
$137
Cons:
  • Conflicting information very dangerous with autos

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Avoid AAA auto
