Regarding my latest experience (Aug'23), AAA Car Care Plus (SJ) wanted $6,853 for work that cost me $11 for an Ignition Coil replacement along with <20 minutes of my labor. The numerous OBD2 codes (2x A/F O2 Sensors, VSC & ABS + orders) were all cause by one bad Ignition Coil.
Rather than track down the specific root-cause as being just one Bad Coil that was easily located at the front of the engine (Cyl-6), AAA Car Care just did a High-dollar shot-gun blast to clear all OBD2 codes.
The 1st step I did was to spend 8-minutes to swap OBD2-reported bad coil "F" with "D" (Cyl-4) where subsequent test showed the problem moved to Cyl-4 (Coil-D). Next, I spent another 8-minutes to put Coil-D back to Cyl-4 and I replaced Cyl-6 Coil with an $11 coil from Amazon (6ea/$66) --- ALL PROBLEMS GONE and all OBD2 codes disappeared by themselves and remained such after 600 mi of driving where the vehicle now runs terrific.
- Uncertain
- Too costly and inappropriate expense
Preferred solution: Apology
User's recommendation: Be on the lookout for AAA Car Care's inability to quickly isolate specific technical problems where instead just blindly replacing everything are the customers expense while AAA reaps huge monetary rewards for themselves.

Verified ReviewerAdvertisement and not preforming the service
Good evening, I have been a AAA member since 2000. Ive used the service at various times.
This recent occurrence was on 09Jun23. We had an appointment for 10am est. We dropped off our vehicle at approximately 9:55am. for an oil change, tire rotation, and to make a repair on one of the tires that would Loose air weekly.
We received a notice from the AAA car care center that out vehicle was ready for pickup. I spoke with Connie and she stated that the only thing of concern with our vehicle was that the air filter needed to be changed and that they could not find anything wrong with the right passenger rear tire. I arrived at the car care center at approximately 4:50pm est. Connie the person that checked us out stated the services that were performed.
She stated, the oil change, tires were rotated, and the air filter was changed. When checked our vehicle, I noticed that the tires had NOT been rotated. I confronted Connie of my findings. She stated that she trust her guys and the service had been performed.
At that time, the technician who supposedly preformed the service was now in front of us. He didnt say anything otherwise. She offered to have the vehicle pulled back in and to have the tires rotated. I said to her, my concern is that this service is, was advertised, besides, our vehicle had been there a great part of the day and for me now have to wait for what should have done, was now a waste of my time.
Im curious if even the tire was checked and the filter was changed.

To Who It May Concern:
I hit in a deer while vacationing in Canada on July 21. I am a US citizen and have bee an AAA auto and home insurance customer for a few years now.
I have been trying for over a week to get my truck towed to an authorized auto repair shop and get a rental car per the agreement on my contract with you.
I have done all the research for autorized auto repairs and called several cities nearby to find one that can repair my 2023 Honda Ridgeline in less than 3 months. Yes, 3 months.
I have also researched rental car companies and provided all of this information to your claims department, first to a claims adjuster who would did almost nothing, then to his supervisor, who has done little more that get me a rental vehicle reservation, but not following up to see if they actually. had any cars to rent.
I am at my wits end with your company. I am a retired Marketing Director who has also handled customer service in my early days.
Your customer service is beyond poor.
I am currently located in a rural area in Canada without a vehicle. My wife has a heart condition and I have no transportation should there be problems. I can't even go to a store for groceries.
At this point, I have even tried calling my agent in Stuart, Florida to try and get them to use their influence to help me. I have called them three times.
They have not called me back but promised to take care of it. I am still waiting.
I am hoping someone will see this email and reach out to me at (978) 807-****. Otherwise, I will simply not renew either auto or home insurance this fall and cancel my AAA roadside service. I will further use my marketing skills to setup a negative social media campaign for AAA auto insurance.
I am not an unreasonable person, but I have reached my limit.
I cannot stay in Canada beyond the end of October and nothing is being done to get my vehicle towed to the auto body shop for repair.
Sincerely,
Scott Rundle.

Verified Reviewer | Suwanee, GeorgiaThe Manager Jim Casol is Rude and unprofessional
I came in with a coupon for Oil Change, Tire Rotation &;;;;;;;;;;; Free Digital vehicle inspection &amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp; safety check for a total of $39.99. At the time, I hadn't read the full details of the service and what it included.
But, I asked how much would a diagnostic cost me---Rep Daniel - P67297 told me $119. We've been members of AAA for over 10years and never used this facility. So, wife wanted to try it out with the coupon. When, I picked up my car, I paid for the service and left.
I was not pleased with the extremely high balance of $191 for services that was supposed to be $39.99 not counting misc fees. I don't like to squabble over a bill in public. But, when I got home I went over the coupon and invoice more thoroughly, and I noticed I was charged $135 for the diagnostic, and for 8.5 quarts of oil. When I called in to complain, I was told, that was a non-member charge and it shouldn't have been applied.
The rep said he would take care of it, and credited me the difference of the pricing. But, the coupon also said I should've gotten my tires rotated, which it was not even suggested by the rep, and that the free digital inspection (which I thought was a diagnostic --The word-play here). I tried to get an explanation for the omission from who I was talking to, but the rep was over-talking me and becoming short, so I asked for a manager, he said he was the manager, I asked for his name, and he said Jim Casol. I got upset because he started going back and forth with me and used a curse word about the situation and He stated, if I'm going to use that language I going hang up.
And he just hungup on me. I immediately called back and got a Joe (totally opposite character), he tried to explain to me the charges, he apologized for the previous miscues in the whole invoice, he took ownership of the called and tried to help as much as he could. He tried to assure me that if I gave the shop another chance that I wouldn't feel so bad about doing business with them again. I assured him that I would NEVER use that facility again, because it's not the omission, slip-up, or big thumbs of the rep that charged me as a non-member when I'm a member, or the rep not explaining to me what the services of the coupon entailed and what would my potential charges be based on the service a breakdown of my charges, No, it was the way the manager spoke to me, as a potentially new customer, he over=talked me, he basically argued with me about the charges, and he told me it was not his reps fault that I didn't tell him what I thought the coupon covered.
(free digital inspection - is not a diagnostic). And then when I attempted to remind him I was an adult and a customer, and I used a curse word, he took that as an opportunity to get me off the phone-hung upungup on me! When I called back I got Joe, who should be the manager at this shop, because he knows how to talk to people, accept ownership of mishaps and try to resolve the grievance in real time. He also gave me the number of Ron -District manager when I asked for Jim's bosses name.
I believe you have one time to make a good impression, and AAA Car Care Plus 063 Johns Creek, dropped the ball on this one. I will Never recommend this facility to anyone based on the Manager Jim Casol, the service there after starts with NeDdddhim.

Verified ReviewerAnger and disappointment
Due to the coupons in your monthly magazine, my husband scheduled an appointment to have his oil changed and to look for a slow leak in a tire. The tech provided him with a potential invoice of $1,125.64.
He was told he needed brake pads and rotors. My husband had worked as an auto mechanic for several years and knew what questions to ask. After receiving the answers to his questions, he knew that his brakes and rotors were not in need of replacement. I was under the delusion that AAA meant trustworthy and reliable.
I am not so sure anymore. How many other customers have paid for unnecessary repairs?
Preferred solution: Honesty - I will let the BBB know that AAA Car Care is not a reliable service provider.
User's recommendation: Look for another car care service.
