A1 Arrow Movers Moving Service Review from Houston, Texas
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SHOWED UP AN HOUR LATE SAYING THEY HAD TO FIX A FLAT ON THE TRUCK BUT IT SOUNDED LIKE HE HAD JUST WOKE UP.
SHOWED UP IN A LITTLE BEAT DOWN TRUCK AND FORCED ALL MY BIG FURNITURE TO FIT. THE GUY JUSTIN TRIED TO LAY MY FLAT SCREEN TVS LAYING DOWN ON TOP OF MY COUCHES UNTIL I CORRECTED HIM.ABY PROFESSIONAL MOVER KNOW YOU CAN LAY LED TVS DOWN IN SUCH MANNER. THEN HE PICKED IT UP ROUGHLY I BET THATS WHEN HE BROKE MY TV SCREEN.WE GOT TO MY DESTINATION I WENT OUT TO CHECK ON THE GUYS BECAUSE NO ONE WAS COMING IN. I WENT OUT AND NY AREA RUG AND DRESSER DRAWERS WERE ON THE GROUND IN THE MUD.
THE DRESSER CORNER WAS CHIPPED AND BROKEN. WHEN THEY WERE LEAVING I WAS LIKE WHERES MY MIRROR I FOUND IT CRACKED IN BETWEEN THE BOX SPRINGS AND MATTRESS THEY TRIED TO HIDE IT. I HAVE ALWAYS UAED MOVERS AND NEVER HAD ANY DAMAGE MY PROPERTY. I CONTACTED THE OWNER JESSE AND HE CLAIM THAT HE WAS ORDERING JUSTIN TO COME TAKE PICTURES.JUSTIN DIDNT SHOW UP TILL AFTER 10PM.
I MISSED WORK. I SPOKE WITH JESSE ONCE HE SAID HE WAS WAITING TO HEAR FROM HIS INSURANCE COMPANY THAT WAS 2 WEEKS AGO HE DOES NOT ANSWER HIS PHONE.
I IGNORED THE BAD REVIEWS AND TRIED THEM OUT ANYWAY NOW LOOK WHAT HAPPEN. OH BUT ITS NOT OVER!
A1 Arrow Movers Moving Service Review from Houston, Texas
I scheduled the move with them two weeks in advance. Day of move no one contacted me.
I called them around 20 times and no one picked up. Then someone called me back and gave me the drivers number. I was supposed to be moved from between 2 & 4 p.m. I spoke to the driver and he kept pressing it an hour up to the got to around 9 o'clock and he didn't even answer and didn't even called to tell me that they couldn't even do the move.
Totally unprofessional I had to call at 24 hour emergency move. I recommend never to use this company they don't even do the job
Stealing Review
They stole my grandfather's watch and my shoes!!!! Now no answer
Do Not Hire A1 Arrow Movers!!
I was given a quote of $29hr/man and a $39 service fee. I took their earliest appointment with them a week in advance at 1:00 the following Thursday afternoon to get a few big pieces of furniture out of my old apartment and move them to my house only 10 minutes away.
Jeffery was the guy I had talked to and he even called and confirmed with me early that Thurs morning. I showed up at my old apartment and waited. They were no were in sight. I called Jeffery and he said to call the guys w the truck and gave me a name and number.
I called and the guy that answered said they were with a client and would have to call me right back. I continued to wait and still didn't hear anything. About an hour had passed and I was really starting to wonder and get upset. I called Jeffery back and he would't listen to me, put me on hold, came back and I asked where they guys were and why were they not on time or calling me back, he got very angry with ME and hung up on me!
I called my fiance and he called Jeffery. He apologized to my fiance and said the guys were in an accident in their truck and they could reschedule for the following morning. I was lost for words and looked for other movers who I could depend on and called them back to cancel. I got online and read their reviews and realized I was not alone.
I called 24/7 Movers and even w such late notice, they showed up on time, 3 men and completed everything within 2 hours and were about the same price. I was so pleased. I never knew I would have to worry when I hired movers.
Now I know always read reviews first!! I will never hire A1 Arrow Movers again or refer them to anyone!
A1 Arrow Movers - Furniture Moving Review from Atlanta, Georgia
Worst experience! Do not hire this company.
They were 2 hours late. When I called the main office no one even answered. When they finally arrived, it was raining. They explained to me that stopped buying wrap and didn't bring blankets to cover furniture.
Really? They ended up leaving and i was stuck without movers.
Recent move with A1 Arrow Movers
Recently I searched for a cost effective to move some furniture from Houston to Galveston. I booked with A1 and then read the negative reviews on the Internet.
I called them back and said 'hey your reputation is terrible why is that? They rationalized their situation and said they do their best with clients who call in with no notice and I should shop around for a better deal if I want. I however was giving them enough time so that the pick up could happen as planned. I needed a pick up at 9 am.
I told him I would write their first positive review if they didn't screw this up. I then sent them an email documenting the agreed terms, times, etc. I then called two days ahead of time to confirm we had not fallen off the move list. We again agreed to the 9am pick up time.
I got a call at 7:00 am that morning indicating they were on their way; I advised that would not work because we had agreed to 9:00 am and would not be ready until then. The driver apparently didn't know of this arrangement and the pick up was accordinging to his orders scheduled for first thing. First yellow flag. I would have been happy to change my plan but not without notice.
At 9 am it became apparent we had been shifted to a later time slot when the driver called indicating the would arrive at 11 am. Actual arrival was 12:45. I appreciated the calls by the driver but suspect he knew the likely timeline much earlier in the morning but I will give them the benefit of the doubt. When they showed up the lead guy brought out the paperwork raising costs that were not previously agreed to.
New: Cost for first 2hrs; three drivers not two as agreed; and a one time fee. The fee i agreed to started for each driver in hour three. I advised the lead guy that the agreed terms were documented and sent to them and not rejected (In hind site I would have asked for a written confirmation). The driver said well sometimes they make these pricing arrangements so maybe I was right but there was 3 guys not 2.
I said that was not my problem that this was an easy move and no huge pieces of furniture. We agreed to a price for 2 drivers very close to the original terms. The move otherwise went without problem and they were paid in cash per agreement ahead of being off loaded. I did give a tip for way they got the stuff loaded and offloaded.
The movers were otherwise polite and said they appreciated me working with them noting they were more than 3 hours late. I presume the practice of getting paid prior to offloading reflects a concern of not getting paid if the client is pissed having to wait. It is misfortunate they they do not put more energy in addressing client expectations. The hassle around the price was completely avoidable -unless it is actually the planned way of working.
One must assume that either they bring up new terms and hope to get the client to bend over or the are too incompetent to convey agreed pricing to the driver along with the address and pick up time. This is not a new company and the guys who showed up were not new. I cannot decide which scenario is in play. Someone mentioned on this site that They do use a u haul truck which was fine with me.
A good idea, Let someone else maintain the equipment. I advertised to them i would write a glowing review if they got his move right. That apparently wasn't that important to them to ensure our agreement was fully met. So the reality is that if do not manage these guys, get it in writing and be prepared to hold them to terms, your cost would likely be no different than any other local mover.
I understand you make money by keeping the truck moving and pick up times can slide. But it was surprising two days before the said 9am was fine. But there is no reason for not saying what you plan to do and doing what you say. That is how you build a positive business reputation.
Would I use them again?
Maybe, but armed with these learnings we would be even more clear on what I expect to happen.
AWEFUL & extremely unprofessional
Used the company to move my 2 bedroom condo into a storage unit 2 miles away & it took them 4 hours. They arrived 30 minutes late & upon arrival one of the movers decided to relieve himself in my bathroom for *** near 20 mins.
They took my multiple SMOKE breaks on my dime and evens I caught them they would just rush back in. They broke multiple iTunes and didn't even have the decency to tell me. Theitems of value just cheap decisive glasses but they hid them after the fact. They were lazy, 1 was fat and out of shape, and they took their time so they could charge me the highest rate possible until I put my foot down.
I ended up moving half of the boxes my self in my car bcz they b.s. around the full 4 hours.
They also the all of my pillow, couch and chair pillows on the ground outside not once but twice bcz they did it again when we reached the storage unit. This is the WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH AND I WILL BE SURE TO INFORM EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO USE THESE LAZY *** LOSERS WHO DON'T EVEN OWN THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT!
Please do not use this moving company
I scheduled a move with A1 Arrow movers for 9:30am, but they didn’t show up until 12:30pm. I was told I could pay with a debit card, but when they arrived, I was told they could only take cash. I was also told it was prorated per hour, meaning if they took 2 hrs 15 minutes, I would be charged for 3. I told him if I knew that, I would not have gone with their company; we agreed on ½ hour increments instead. They were also driving a Budget Rental truck, not a company truck.
When they started moving my furniture into my new apartment, they were putting it where it didn’t belong (i.e. entertainment center in bedroom instead of living room). He said they were just putting it there until they finished unloading, then they would set it how I want it. When finished unloading, they were 15 minutes into the last ½ hour increment, but they refused to move my furniture how I wanted it. The manager said “Too bad, you already paid. Time is up. We are late for our next appointment” and walked quickly back to the truck. They left my 50” projection screen TV (old style big screen tvs) on top of my dresser in my bedroom, the entertainment center in the bedroom, the queen mattress propped up against the entertainment center, and the couch was left propped up on its side. Most of my furniture has scratches, dents and chips in it. They also were going to pull off before allowing me to inspect the truck to make sure they didn’t forget anything.
I immediately called the company and explained the situation. He said he was going to call the driver before they left the complex. I did not hear back from the company, nor would they answer the phone when I called back 4 times after.
I would definitely not recommend using this moving company. They are shady, unprofessional, inconsiderate, and did not complete the job they were paid to do. Please use a different moving company.
Lazy, dishonest owner and workers
This is a 3-person company, and the owner Jesse Rodriguez is also a worker. I hired them on March 2013 for moving to a new apartment in Houston. Big mistake!
Here is a list of their tricks:
* He changed the time of moving the night before. He also brought a different type of vehicle than previously agreed upon (made moving things very difficult).
* Among the three of them, the only one who was really working and not sneaking around was the guy who didn't speak much english.
* After loading the tuck, I was following them. They were going intentionally very slow (large truck going 20mi/hr on a 35mi/h busy street) to make the move time longer than 2 hours, to charge for an extra hour (didn't work).
* Since they didn't have a moving cart large enough, we ended up using mine. They kept it inside the truck after unloading of items. Jesse didn't answer my phone calls afterwards, which makes me think he took it intentionally (theft $150).
* They broke a light-set (damage, $135 value).
* They tried to charge extra fees. Once I disagreed, he suddenly decided that he needs to charge a "sales tax" of $15. (Tax Fraud)
Do yourself and your family a favor and stay away from them.
DO NOT USE A1 ARROW MOVERS
I hired this company to move my grandmother from her house to her new apartment and they took advantage of her and my mother by adding on all these additional fees after the move was done. My mother & grandmother had no experience with a moving company prior to this and I was at work and couldnt be there to oversee their service.
The movers arrived three hours late, lazy/slow (on purpose) and they over charged the quoted price I received from "Greg"- if thats his real name. I called Greg with Arrow Movers the next day to inform him that his "workers" over charged and he seemed eager to fix the issue and refund the difference. I called this man over a dozen times because we hadnt received the refund and he always gave me the run around or answered the phone and pretended to be someone else and say "he wasnt there". He agreed to send me a refund on 2/21/13.
Today is 4/30/13 and he still wont return my calls. They are dishonest thiefs.
Moving & Follow-Up
I hired the services of a1arrowmovers on Sunday, 11/11/12. When I called, I was quoted the price of $29.00/per hour for two men, & $75.00/per hour for three. The job was to move the goods from our storage unit to our new apartment. I was told they would be available
around 10 am, but the movers were not available until after 3pm. The three men were polite & fast. There were a few gouges to some of the new furniture we had delivered, but that is to be expected. Despite the delay & the gouges, the service was fast. The men were finished in
an hour & forty-five minutes, as I helped as well. However, the quote I was given was
profoundly different. The total for 105 minutes of work was $270.00, which is $120.00 more than the $150.00 I was quoted for two hours of work at $75.00/per hour. Because of inflated moving costs, we were already over budget, but we hired the movers b/c I was having surgery
on my spine for a serious injury in January. To receive a quote & then have it grossly inflated, despite a website promising moving specials, "no extra fees" & then have them ask for cash payment was very disappointing.
Paying almost TWICE what I was quoted left me feeling taken 'upset', not to mention scrambling to rob Peter to pay Paul to pay the extra $120.00. When I asked the gentleman why the fees were overinflated, I was told that "weekends were more expensive, & they must have quoted you wrong". A quote is a quote...it is NOT the
customers fault, nor should they bear the burden for a company quoting the wrong rate to a customer. I called (281) 948-**** & left a voicemail regarding the inflated price, but my call was never returned. I sent emails regarding the move & never had a call or a return email. This is highly unprofessional. Obviously, they had their cash, so why even bother about returning a phone call or email. It has been a few months, & after my surgery & recovery I am determined to let people know not to use this company.
Bad experience
DO NOT use this company. They show up late, if at all, then the rates they charge are not what is stated in their YP ad.
They advertise $29/hr but fail to say until they show up that rate starts after the minimun 2 hr charge of $199 + $49 service charge. And the take only CASH. Suspect they work a lot off book to avoid paying taxes. They do not have their own trucks, use Budget rental trucks.
Suspect they are not Insured for damage or injury.
AVOID THEM!!!!!
In addition they said they offered Senior Discounts, just tell the driver they said when I called. Driver said he did not know anything about senior discounts.
A-1 arrow movers of houston
I call ten or more days in advance and booked them to move my one bedroom apt.
They confirmed Friday they would be there Saturday between 0900 and 0930.
Saturday I called them around 10 and they said they would be there in 30 minutes..One of the guys calls about and 1 hour later to ask if I still wanted them to come and say that they were on the way..well about 1220 I called them because they still hadn't showed up..and I was sent to voicemail..at that point I ended up moving what I could because I rented a uhaul and neIeded to drive to Dallas that night...Good luck getting them to show up!!
No responses!
I called and got a quote from Greg and supposedly a confirmed date for my move. I had to change the date and also tried to request an additional move at the same time to same location.
I spoke to Jesse. He confirmed my date and I was to call right back with the address of the other location. I had asked for their TX DOT or TX DMV number. After that I could not get an answer when I called or even a return call unless I called from a different telephone number.
I spoke with Michael next. I was told I had two confirmed moves for my date, however, he could not provide the TX DOT or TX DMV nbr either. I requested an email confirmation and asked to have the TX DOT nbr included on that. Never came.
My mother called and was told by Michael that he would send it as soon as he got back to the office, Never received. I left message after message and even advised them that if I didn't get a return call I would be scheduling with someone else. Still have not received a call or email. I wouldn't trust them with my posessions!
If they can't return calls and the only way you can reach them is calling from unknown numbers to them, that says alot! How do you know if they will show up and if they do, will your furniture arrive to your destination and not be held hostage if it does? Reputable companies can provide you with their TX DOT or TX DMV nbr right away. They never had it available.
Not even if you were willing to receive it via email!
Beware! Cheap isn't always better and I have found other companies that are priced close to them and have all the proper documentation right at their fingertips!
