They are a rip-off Company. They are in business not to pay for any repairs whatsoever you made to your car.
The coverage is very very limited and couched in a way that unsuspecting public should endeavor to read the second page of the Warranty Application before signing any contract with them. ALERT! please take a look at the second page TO UNDERSTAND YOUR COVEREAGE.
Save Your Money!!
Save your money! Don't buy from this company!
Very poor coverage. The so-called coverage is very limited as they don't cover anything that may be considered as maintenance nor do they cover hoses etc.
Let's face it, they are in business to disqualify as many claims as possible. And they appear to get away with this.
They avoid and ignore your calls and they refuse to pay or
reimburse you for 95% of vehicle repairs.
They refused replace my power steering pump because I had the hose replaced first. The GM dealer garage were appalled.
What a joke!! Their coverage was meant to be peace of mind. Not!!!
They fixed my transmission!
My Honda broke down and I was really upset because I had just recently purchased the vehicle. I called A-Protect warranty and they told me to bring it to a garage.
I had a really nice and helpful claim agent named Kelly. The garage inspected my car for free and the warranty company covered the whole cost of my transmission repair. I only had to pay for my $100.00 deductible. I am so happy I chose a higher coverage plan, it was really worth it in the end.
This warranty company is awesome!!! I would use their services again for sure.
- Really good auto warranty company
Rip Off
A Protect does not actually pay claims. They get the mechanic to inflate the cost of the repair, so that it is more than the Per Claim Maximum in your contract, by exactly the amount it costs to fix your car, so the customer pays the whole claim.
Complete and utter rip off artists. For example, let's say you have $1000 per claim contract, and you have a transmission problem. A-Protect will make you go to a mechanic of their choice, this mechanic will tell you the repair will cost $2500, lucky for you the warranty will cover $1000, you will only have to pay $1500.
But in truth the repair would only cost $1500, so in the end you are paying the whole bill. Never buy a warranty where you have a per claim max and you have to go to the warranty company's mechanic.

A Protect Auto Warranty - Auto Warranty Review from Chatham, Ontario
This is a scam! When I first purchased this warranty from a small auto dealer on Martin Grove and Taber, they said I may go to any mechanic shop to get a free estimate on repairs if needed.
When I contact A-Protect Auto, I was told that I would have to go to the "authorized repair facility", I was given a number to call, I was shocked that they only had one "authorized repair facility" in all of Toronto and it is located in Concord. A few days later after dropping off my vehicle, I received a call from A-Protect, a man by the name of Gino told me it would cost $2500 to rebuild the transmission on 2003 Yukon. I had already gotten quotes from other tranny shops and was told $1500 - ****. The dealer quoted just over $2000, so why is this "authorized repair shop" is charging so much!?
They mark up the price so that the warranty doesn't have to pay a thing, the fooled customer ends up paying full price, and then some, because after the deductible the warranty doesn't cover much! I only purchased the warranty because my boyfriend had recommended it, but I should have known that auto warranty doesn't cost a few hundred!
A-Protect Auto Warranty
A-Protect Warranty is truely a ripoff!!!
I purchased a warranty from Dynasty Auto at Finch and Weston Rd in Toronto which came with an A-Protect warranty. I knew that most of these aftermarket warranty companies are a scam and offer a low coverage such as $750 or $800 per claim less another $150 deductible which leaves you with next to nothing. So I purchased a $2500.00 coverage with 0 deductible and paid over a $1,000 for it.
When my transmission went I called A-Protect Warranty and they sent me to AAMCO transmission. Before going to their selected AAMCO Transmission I went to Honda Dealer. They quoted me $2,943.00 plus tax for a rebuilt transmission including part and labour.
When I visited AAMCO I insisted on a written quote, knowing that a written quote according to "Repair & Storage Lien Act" cannot vary for more than 10% upon completion.
AAMCO'S quote was initially $2,300.00 which even appeared to be cheaper than Honda's.
When I got a call to go and pick up the car I was asked to pay $2,300.00 plus tax. I thought initially that they wanted me to pay and then receive my reimbursement from A-Protect warranty. When I told them that A-Protect Warranty will pay them directly this is what they said and you will be shocked!;
The service advisor said that the written quote was solely my portion of the repair and in reality the repair cost came to $5,099.00. He claimed that they will receive another $2,500.00 from A-Protect. This clearly means the the warranty company was not gonna pay anything on my behalf and they were just making it look like as if money changed hands between A-Protect warranty and AAMCO transmission.
Later on, I found out from a gentle man at Eagle Transmission that they do not accept work from most After Market Warranty Companies for excatly that reason. A-protect Warranty is expecting garages to jack up the cost of a selected repair in accordance with the beneficiary's coverage so they do not have to pay anything. In exchange they guarantee to sent x number of jobs to those participating garages which they like to call "Authorized Repair Facility".
This is a vey old and common scam amongst most after market warranty companies which focibly sent their customers to a selcted garage and do not give the beneficiary to visit the garage of theit own choice. This goes often undetected and is very hard to proof in court.
If you have experienced such issue and you have a quote from the garage of your choice which is far less that what you have been charged by A-Protect's "Authorized Reapir Shop" call OMVIC at 416-226-**** and take the Used Car Dealer and the Warranty Company to Small Claim's Court for defrauding you out of your coverage.
