Bait & Switch Screw Job - Stated the Main Controller Board was bad, then used $28 of components to fix our AC unit. Final bill: $1,400

After telling us that the main controller unit had burned out, anumber1air technician spent hour and ten minutes the technician was talking and working on our unit, this is what he charged us for: $1,437

Now, I must asked how much did these components really cost. Check out this A#1 Air, Inc in Lewisville, TX screw job:

Condenser Coil Cleaning (A#1 Air, Inc Part No: SR1116) @ $198.00

He just used our garden hose and water to spray off the outside of the unit. It took him longer to attach our hose and remove the hose than it took to clean the condenser. According to my math that $2,376.00 per hour.

And the replaced parts he gave me weren't even wet!!!

Everything was fine until they switched it all to electronics, computerization, cheap little Chinese parts, etc. The old technology was reliable and easier/cheaper to repair.
