Moving and storage experience

In April of 2017, I needed a place to store my furniture while I looked for another house in Arizona. I was moving from the Phoenix area to Show Low Arizona. It was arranged that my furniture would be loaded and stored on April 25th. The movers arrived late, and loaded until 6:30. We left to have dinner, and were assured that everything left would fit on the truck. When we returned after signing the papers selling my house, the garage was still full of my belongings. We called Art, the person we were dealing with, he said that we should have known that the truck wouldn't hold all that we had, and he had no truck available to finish the job. So we had to rent a large U-Haul to move the rest of what was left. I was told that there would be no money asked for until delivery. Two weeks later Art called and said he needed money for storage. I gave him $300 00. One month storage. It was agreed that at delivery I would owe him one more month storage and the moving costs. At that time I set up delivery for June 19th. The furniture wouldn't be in storage two months. When delivery time came, I called to find out the amount for the cashiers check. Art told me they didn't pro-rate the storage, and it was three full months. I agreed only because they had my furniture. Delivery was ofcourse late, and we noticed that we were minus a television set, a sound bar system, alarm clocks, and a industrial battery charger. On top of that Art was requesting more money for overtime for unloading. We got into a heated discussion. I filed a claim for the loss, but it was sent to Art, and nothing ever came of it. Later investigation has shown that this company has had many complaints for theft. They have an open file at the Phoenix Police department, and the Better Business Bureau refuses to even take complaints because there are so many. Do not us this company. Stay with the major movers. I wish I had.
