Fraudulent, rude, non existent, outsourced customer service

A representative for the company called my father and assured him that a full refund for the charge would be made to the original payment method and we have yet to receive the refund. I have reached out to the company by email repeatedly on his behalf and again have received to response or action on their part!

This is an absolutely horrible company, their customer service is horrible!

Their business practice is unethical and you have no recourse. I feel so bad for recommending this company to my poor parents!

My elderly (both over 80) low-income parents' electric provider was bought out, and the price per kW offered by the new company was 0.18 cents a kW. So, obviously, we needed to find them a new provider.

I told them to go to 4Change because it was who I used. Big mistake! They attempted to sign up online but were unable to due to the company's website not operating, which still isn't... btw...

and they called and spoke with a representative. They believed they were signed up for service and the other account cancelled until they received a bill for the full service month from the other company. So this prompted me to call 4Change to find out why the other company was not cancelled. I was told that my parents did have an account and owed a total of $82.37, which they advised was due, and I then created an online account and paid.

I called the other company, asking how they could charge my parents when 4Change had closed their account. The company assured me that this was not the case. I then investigated further on my parents' 4Change account and discovered 4Change had recorded the wrong address and that the charges reported to have been accrued by my parents were only for 3 days of service to another address other than my parents'. I called 4Change back and asked for an explanation and a refund due to the fact that they can't charge my parents for a service they did not provide because of the incorrect address, and also would not be able to determine an accurate reading for the charge in the first place...

they refused to refund the payment, were very rude, I could barely understand the individuals I spoke with, and said that it was not their fault for connecting to the wrong address and they can't justify or validate the charge. I pointed out that there was no way that electricity service procured a charge of $82 and some change in 3 days because that was the cost of my parents' bill for the month from the other company! Not to mention they didn't provide my parents with service at all anyway! I have dealt with this issue for over a week now!

And still get the same response! And have yet to speak with an individual I can understand due to language and accent differences. I am very displeased with this company! I think it's fraudulent practice!

And shows what kind of mindset and service you should expect should you have an issue. No thank you!

I will be changing not only my parents' services but mine and my other family members' services to a better, more consumer-friendly, and honest American-based customer service company. I do not recommend them at all.

Follow up: An individual called my Dad and assured him he'd be given a refund for the charge...and of course that was the absolute extent of it! Still no refund!

I have been emailing them about the refund, and just get the generic response with no follow up!

What a horrible company! Seriously!

They still continue to bill me for the wrong meter. I finally got an email back saying give it 21 days for it to stop, but I’m still getting them.

I got a bill for my meter and they had not deducted the credit they agreed I had. I have not been sent a new final bill yet or received a follow up call from Queena at their corporate office.

I've tried contacting 4change by phone and email for two weeks. I always spend 35-45 minutes to up to an hour only to be told they can't help me and someone will call back in 24/48 hours and nobody calls back!

I'm being charged for two separate accounts and nobody can tell me why! They are trying to charge me $336 for March when I don't use a/c or heat! Now, because they have some random account under my name they are treating to shut off my power after I paid in full.

2 weeks I have called and or emailed everyday and always get told they will have a supervisor call in 24/48 hours and nobody does! STAY AWAY from them!

Absolute trash. Their support team does NOT know what they are doing!

Within a MONTH of service without notice or permission they have disconnected, reconnected and started themselves a new contract, and sent 4 bills. When calling their customer service for existing customers they dont listen, transfer you off to someone else or claim they have no idea whats going on an tell you to get on a longer wait call with CenterPoint.

I hate them!

They are the worst! They wont work with you, they wont budge on anything with other electric companies will.

My bill is outrageous.

I have a small 2 bedroom apartment and I rarely go over 1,000 kw, but they charge me for using less energy. How insane is that?

I am currently a customer of 4 Change Energy and be cautious that you can be switched to another company without even knowing and the 4 Change Energy not only do not notify you to prevent but also charges you full amount of charges . My calling of several times has been useless since I have not contract any other company and the representatives treat you as if you have made the chage.In addition this company has hidden fees also ,Do a favor to yourself AVOID it.

$19.95 charge

This company charge you 19.95 for a disconnect letter that they send out to you after one day of being late. The rates are good but maybe that's why they do what they do to make up for the lost.

I have been with them several months now and just notice this charge on my bill. I have previous asked why there is no grace period and my answer was that is our policy. My bill should be 20 lesser but because I don't use that much energy they charge me an extra 20 for a letter.

I have never heard of any charging for a letter, a late fee yes. oh and I was charged a late fee as well of 8.00.
