Ever since Purina sold my cat insurance policy to 24petwatch, I've been frustrated. I requested a claim form (2 months) I tried to call them (3 calls, 30-45 minutes wait each time) I filed a claim for veterinary and emergency care (still haven't heard from them after 3 months). The only thing they've done is raise my premium and set it up so they can automatically take my money. I've made 3 premium payments since I filed my claim. This company is a scam or a sham, but shouldn't be allowed to ruin pet owner's insurance policies in America. I guarantee they could care less about the health of my cat and care more about the benefits and pay packages of their corporate officers. Makes me wonder if they're mafia and pay off the insurance commissioners while they steal money from the suckers that buy their "insurance." As of today, I haven't seen a dime from them but they've take over $2000 from me. What a poor excuse of a company.

HORRIBLE Customer & Microchipping Service

I had my 3 cats microchipped with this chip, and, as others before, thought that when they said they were "lifetime" registrations, this was true; no, come to find out AFTER registering them, it's actually $19/year per pet. Then, after I had them CORRECTLY registered, the idiots at the clinic where I had them chipped went through and re-registered them, this time registering 2/3 cats to some other person (each one to a different individual). When I called and tried to have this corrected, I was informed only the clinic could change it without paying their ridiculous "change of ownership fee". The clinic refused to change it, saying that the paperwork they'd made me fill out AFTER I'd asked them to ensure I could register them myself (and they reassured me I could do so) proved these other two were the "real" owners and I had, according to them & 24PetWatch STOLEN MY OWN CATS - all because they got registered to what I had been told were their emergency contacts for the *** clinic (I was told that info submitted to the clinic was purely for their records, NOT the microchip). After having gone rounds for the last year with these dishonest, money-hungry, insufferable idiots at 24PetWatch, I've decided the best course of action to protect my pets is to, unfortunately, have the 24PetWatch chips surgically removed and have new ones (Pro-ID) implanted. Which should be COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY, to submit them to this needless surgery, if 24PetWatch would just LISTEN TO THEIR OWNER and roll the ownership back to the original that I had them registered - TO ME. I don't feel my pets are safe, as clearly 24PetWatch has no problem ignoring the LEGAL OWNER of these animals and letting some other *** come along and change their registration - there's nothing "secure" or "safe" about that in the least. NEVER, EVER use ANY "service" these lying thieves advertise - you'll regret it in the end.

24petwatch - Membership Payment Review from Sea Isle City, New Jersey

I've never had to pay any maintenance fees in the 6 years I have owned my adopted dog. This year however, when I logged in to the website so I could change his address, it wouldn't let me do anything until I paid fir a *** membership lol. Ridiculous.

I am having the same problem. All I am trying to do is change a phone number, they keep you waiting and waiting until you hang up.

My paper says "free" and regular maintenance checks to keep your information accurate plus on-line account maintenance - you can update your own information, really!!!

Just try and get it.

Has anyone come up with an answer?

Hard to get ahold of on the phone

This company is very hard to get on the phone. I waited and waited. I need to cancel my policy or freeze it. I don't have the money to pay it. I am going to fax them instead. They have not done anything bad, but their customer service stinks. I realize that it is a good thing to have, but a great many people don't have it. I love my dog and because I live in a rural area, with wild animals, I worry about her getting hurt or out. The microchip is great, but I wasn't crazy about their attitude in the letter they sent me. The issue the letter was talking about was my fault, not theirs.

Was given the wrong info and policy

To whom this may concern or a manager, I had purchase pet insurance on January 7, 2014. I was told by a man that took my call and wished I got his name, that my pet would be covered as soon as I submitted my bill for my new adopted cat as long as I went while covered and that it was month to month insurance and I could cancel the next month and still be covered which I learned was wrong you had to have 6 mths of ins before being reimbursed and I specifically ask him that and he said no, obviously he did not know what he was talking about. I even asked him again and said that sounds to good to be true and he verifyed i was correct. For being a first time customer, this was the worst experience I ever had. I called to ask why I wasn't being covered and a girl answered, here he didn't even give me the right policy that I asked for. I asked the girl if there was anything she could do for me since I paid for a policy that wasn't what he told me he was giving me and my policy was mailed to me after I already took my cat to te vet and was totally unconvinced bc I had to drive there 3 times to get the appropriate info. To submit for reimbursement which I am now not getting. The girl told me I misunderstood and I said I never complain about anything but this is major reason too. Now I'm out 2 mths insurance bill and a vet bill. I told her to play my recorded conversation with the man on that day he gave me all the info and policy and she said that would be hard to find so why record conversations then. The she told me she would have manager call me and I never got a call back yet. Bad customer service. The least that could be done is refund my 2 months insurance I think that is fair since I was paying for something that wasn't even the right policy I was suppose to have. I hope to hear from someone soon because this was just not right.

Poor customer service, rude representative

I made the mistake of believing that this company actually covered sicknesses and accidents for my dog. When he fell from my truck and tore a ligament in his knee that required surgery it was deemed to be 'elective ' and was not covered. When I asked to speak to a claims rep she couldn't tell me what, if any part of the bill would be covered until I submitted a claim form with the required deposition from my vet. My vet's office charges to complete insurance paperwork and when I asked if 24PetWatch would reimburse that cost I was again told to submit it for consideration. What this company does is it strings you along to get the most money out of you before you are so sick of them you cancel your policy. When I called to cancel I was put on 'hold' because all the cancellation reps were busy duping others. I called repeatedly until I finally spoke to a real person who was rude to me after telling me that she noticed I had called several times earlier. I figured for as much anguish they caused me I would be a pain in their behinds. Made me feel better. At the end, they covered nothing and was a waste of my time and money. Please read all the reviews and tell anyone you know to as well. They need to be put out of business.

Liars! Cheats! Thieves!

24petwatch - Liars! Cheats! Thieves!

I got my deaf Great Dane puppy microchipped through our local Humane Society with their 24 Pet Watch chip for their one time "lifetime" registration fee. When I went online to edit my address information, I discovered they charge $19/year or $40 for another supposed "lifetime" maintenance fee if you want to make any changes!

I won't pay, because, for one thing, it's rewarding their deceit, and also, what if they decide to tack on another fee in a year or two? They promised other humane and rescue organizations there were no fees after the initial microchip insertion either.

They are ripping off thousands of customers each year with this false promise.

TERRIBLE

I had my male dog microchipped over a year ago now. paid for it and everything. well i moved recently and i called in to change the address on his chip. well it turns out someone made a mistake and registered their CAT named ROXY. i have called SEVERAL times the last few weeks trying to make sure that my dog's microchip is under MY name as a DOG. well at first they told me that i had to PAY to change ownership which i was like are you kidding me? and i was willing to do it to make the process faster except they wouldn't give me the cat owner's information so i would be able to change it! so they wanted me not only to pay for someone else's mistake but to FIND the owner of a freaking cat named roxy that could be anywhere in the united states and ask them if i can please put MY dog under MY name. they finally established over TWO weeks ago that they would send out a form that wouldn't cost me anything to correct this issue. I called because it STILL hasn't come in the mail. and out of every single time i've called, EVERY representative sounds like a snotty 16 year old girl. every single time. then they had the nerve to tell me to wait another 2 days for the form to come in. next time i have to call in (because i know i will have to because this company is a joke) i am going to ask to speak with a supervisor instead of dealing with the idiots. thank god my dog didn't get lost because they would have scanned him and called him roxy and given him to some random people i don't even know. jesus christ.

I'm having a similar problem with my dog. I had her chipped at the local Humane Society.

They told me (and it says on the website) that the registration fee I paid was for LIFETIME registration. When I called to edit her information, they told me I had to pay $18.95/year just to change our address! The rude representative told me it had been that way for years. Other Humane Societies say the fee is lifetime also, so I believe 24PetWatch deliberately lies to them as well.

I will not pay this fee.

What a scam! :(

VERY DISSATISFIED, POOR AND I MEAN POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!

Adopted a dog from a rescue group who offered 24PetWatch Insurance...I thought, how generous of them. Well, a week after taking the dog home she developed life threatening pneumonia and mange. For those who know, mange is much worse when an animal's immune system is weak. Dog spent a night at the hospital in order to get fluids in her, cost UPWARDS OF $1400.00. The Maximum benefit is only $750. After submitting the claim I talk to the rescue group who tell me they can increase the benefit to cover the full extent of our out of pocket. She explains that I should call the company in order to determine what they WILL cover. I call, am lingering on hold for 1/2 hour. Once I speak with someone in order to discuss this very thing I am directed to call again as it hasn't been 20 working days yet. I clock all the days and I should call again on 7/23 when it IS 20 days but when I realize that today was a MONTH since putting my claim in I figure I'd give it a shot. Wait another 1/2 hour on hold, this time I get a claims person..whoo hoo. Oh your check was mailed yesterday...but I wanted to extend and get full recovery of my $1400.00, oh, you should have called sooner. I DID CALL SOONER, YOU WOULDN'T TALK TO ME. I TRIED TWICE, "OH YOU HAVE TO WAIT 20 BUSINESS DAYS." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE SCREWED.

24 petwatch worse insurance ever

I subscribed several years ago. i have two cats and luckily until last month I never needed to use the insurance.

Two months ago one of my cats started peeing blood. After a run of antibiotics the vet had to do several test to rule out cancer, kidney stones or bad infections. The vet told me blood in the urine is a pretty typical disease for cats. I have a basic insurance and believed this was covered.

I submitted all the expenses and had to do it few times because their malfunctioning fax.

The insurance sent me a letter today saying that hematochezia as a digestive category is not available for coverage. I believe my cat has an uro-genital disease and tests were done to rule out cancer and infections. So it should be covered. Now I have to waste my time to contest the refusal, after paying for so many years.

I should have just saved the money in a special saving account. Will never do pet insurances again.

Worsts Company Ever!!! They steal your money

This is a rip off! Do not even bother they take your money and never pay you for a anything. After 1year of paying premiums. I submitted a claim because my dog got sick with Parvo, when I rescued him. I never got a penny back. They make it so complicated. When I realized this is a waste of money. I decided to cancel. I called 2 years ago to cancel and I got a cancellation number. They have one of my accounts on file that I do not check. Long story short they never cancelled my policy and they continued debiting my account. I have paid $500 that I did not authorize. When I called to inquire they tell me what is the cancellation number. They have no records of me calling and cancelling. They are bunch of thieves.

24PetWatch - pet insurance for suckers

I was with 24PetWacth Pet Insurance. A bit of advice: do not sign up with them. When my dog passed away after ten years, they denied me any coverage except for euthanasia. They used the now infamous term "PRE-EXISTING CONDITION" to keep my money. Like the human health insurance companies, they use a microscope to find any excuse to rob the customer. Eleven hundred dollars in vet bills during his last agonizing week of life. After 3 YEARS of membership, they turned their back on me. If you want to flush your money down the toilet - sign up with 24PetWatch.

My cat had sudden profuse bleeding from her nose. The vet tested for Feline HIV, cancer, infection and rat bait poisoning to save her life.

After the rat bait treatment worked, 24PetWatch said they wouldn't pay for any of the tests, they'd only pay for the portion of the treatment that turned out to be the cause!!

(Say, PetWatch, the other possibilities would have cost you far more.)

I had to threaten a lawsuit before they promised to pay the full claim. I'm still waiting for a check.

This company used to be petcareinsurance.com and pay claims on time, but since they merged with 24PetWatch they'll do anything to keep from paying, no communication, and they take forever.

I'm switching to a different insurance when the policy comes due - if I can find an honest one!

Get a class action lawsuit and sue them for all past premium payments. They are a fraud.

After paying for years, they used ever excuse to deny claims and wouldn't even reimburse me the $500 to euthanize my dog. Get together and sue them for fraud now!

Pet Insurance Bait/Switch; Cheated me $50

24HrPetWatch/PTZ (zillions of subsidiaries to plow through)Ins., sold by Metropolitan Ins. rep.@ Pet Expo would not honor the $50 deductible; says it is now $100, though it was $50 at time of claim submitted and I sent substantiation of this fact. Then they told me that the policy I had was only to have been sold to insurance agents, not the general public. They only told me this once I put in a claim ($56.00 was due to me, but they only paid me $6!). Metropolitan refused to get involved, saying that coverage is just farmed out. So, I cancelled all of my policies but the one tenant one I keep to pacify my landlord. DO NOT do business with them!!! You are forewarned!!!
