My soon to be fiancé and I went looking for rings in November of 2012 after going from store to store I finally found a ring I loved at zales. It was apart of their new collection the celebration grand and it was lovely.

2,700 was the but I had finally found my ring. We were told that there would be a coming up which would save 15% off the ring not to mention a 600 dollar trade in value for a promise ring he had purchased there two years ago. (Note: I never had any issues with my promise ring from the past, present, future collection it came in a timely manner, was the correct size, and no diamonds ever fell out) I had a 100 dollar off coupon to add so it took a lot off the ring. We were repeatedly told while we were there that since we needed to custom order a ring (I'm a size 5 and they only carry a 7) it would only take about 3 weeks to come in.

My boyfriend thought that was perfect because he wanted to propose on Christmas. The woman helping us Cheryl did try constantly to convince us to just purchase the one in store and get a tempory sizing band placed in it so it would fit then send it off after the proposal to get sized or custom order my size and just exchange it once it came in. We decided to just order the one in my correct size and wait. On November 23rd my boyfriend went to zales placed $500 down and ordered the ring.

Fast forward 3 weeks and I'm anxiously awaiting to hear its come in when my boyfriend calls me to say it hasn't and since they don't do deliveries on Saturdays I figured I'd be patient and wait till Monday. Monday rolls around and Tuesday soon followed with no word even though we were promised a phone call. On Thursday I'm livid and tired of the run around so my boyfriend and I decide we will purchase a ring elsewhere. We go down to zales and I tell them how dissatisfied I am with their customer service and how I don't appreciate being lied to just so someone can make a sale.

The sales rep apologizes profusely and says that it usually take 3-6 weeks for a custom sized piece to come in and that I should not have been lied to. I lightened up because the girl looked like she was on the verge of tears and kindly asked if she could find out the whereabouts of my engagement ring and we would go from there. She calls the manager who told her she was on the trail of the ring and that it should be in by this Friday by her paperwork. The girl gave us the news and we left with me feeling satisfied!.

The following week Monday the ring had not shown my boyfriend called and they said they didn't know and promised that the ring would be in by Christmas". December 28th 5 weeks since ordering the ring and after the promised date of before Christmas he goes in to speak with the manager who tells him the ring won't be in till the middle of January or the end of January:. It has been over 7 weeks since he ordered the ring and still nothing,. I'm outraged by this company and after reading reviews that this is common practice I am on my way to cancel the order and make it aware that I never intend to do business with them again'.

We are going to purchase a ring from a more reputable company with better customer service/. Not only am I giving up on the ring of my dreams I wasted so much time holding out for it that I could have probably already had a ring from another company on my finger by now:.

Zales not only lost a customer but I intend to let all my friends and family know to never do business with them again;.The black market probably has better customer service and quality pieces than this company does. 313ac67

We did return the ring yesterday and are awaiting the $500 he put down to be refunded back to his debit card. I found a really nice ring at Devons that was the same price and actually higher quality diamonds. I was fortunate that they even had my size there. I honestly probably would have kept the ring and kept waiting if we had been told from the beginning that they weren't sure how long it would take. I work retail and I understand there is no garuntee on time. Some collections might take longer to make or ship if they come from overseas. But after 7 weeks and not even a courtesy call just to say they were still tracking the ring or something, but instead just continuously giving us the run around I had enough. The woman who helped us was very nice and even when we made the return they were all pleasant. Hopefully this is a lesson to them and they will try a little harder to go above and beyond their customer service expectations. I'm sorry to hear about your problem with them as well. Maybe they just don't understand how important an engagement ring that fits properly is to a girl. Best of luck to you hopefully you get your correct sized ring soon!!!!

Upon reading your complaint, I kept looking over at my fiance wondering if he had secretly written this.. Our story to a "T".. My fiance proposed on Christmas, had bought my ring a few weeks before. They gave him the size seven from the store to use for the proposal and Promised the correct sized 4 1/2 ring within one week, which turned into a few weeks of unreturned phone calls, followed by a "visit" into the store where the gentleman working behind the counter looked terrified, it was a weekend, so of course no one was working. At first, someone "forgot" to place the custom sized order, then it was just between their corporate office and Fedex, then it was a phone call begging for their manager to call us, then it was a hang up phone call from a less than empathetic store manager who said my fiance was condescending for asking for a straight answer. It has been almost one month since ordering the ring, now we are told that all custom orders have a delivery time of 6-8 weeks... The story has changed tune so many times, who knows what is real and what is not.. If I didn't love what he picked so much, I would ask him to take the oversized "temporary" one back and have him start over with a different jeweler.. It's sad that while we had picked out the rest of the set to purchase from them and my fiance's wedding band, I know we'll be much better off somewhere else.. and that unfortunately for Zales, a negative review or word of mouth is often times remembered more than a...
