Stop steering to the UPS STORE for shipping discounts. I recently used the local Ups store to ship two to relatives in Vermont and Virginia. Cartons were about 5 lbs. each and sent from zip 11704 to zip 05465 and 23235.
UPS STORE charged me $19. 70 for one and 19.38 for the other. After arriving home I checked the Internet for other shippers. Here are the results:
USPS $9.98
UPS 13.31
UPS store 16.78
When I challenged the difference between the $19.70 and the $16.78, they refused to refund the difference and insisted it was due to a difference in fuel delivery costs. This was a bogus excuse and I promised never to Trust the UPS store again.
