This store now has a Better Business Bureau rating of "F". They also have a detailed letter from UPS about how poorly the item was packed. The manager must be so, so proud of his abilities to manage. He should tell his family and friends of his achievements. And Jay, they packed it and shipped it and insurance was assumed, They said nothing about declare a value or get it insured. The UPS store in Streamwood is run by a bunch of when packing and providing service. They packed my item and shipped it.

It was damaged and they disappear when the complaint comes in!. The owner is a pro in dragging the problem out". I sold the item for $800 and he offers me $100:. It is going into the seventh month and all of my complaints get ignored or spun around|.

They even took 3 weeks to reply to the BBB complaint that I filed?. They replied once and stopped communications?. The BBB gave them a bad mark and closed the complaint/.

It's in the 's office now,.I've got my picket signs ready and heading over there tomorrow to warn other about this place. 314a48c

Do you realize how much fraud would occur if you were able to access a value to an item after it was already damaged? You should definitely be reimbursed for packing if the item was damaged, but why would the store pay out anymore. Of course UPS wrote a letter saying how badly it was packaged, because they are the ones who damaged the item so it takes the blame off of them. Bottom line, you didnt declare the value at $800 and your *** out of luck. The store should always discuss coverage for your items before shipment, but ultimately it is YOUR responsibility to dot all your i's and cross all your t's before your finalize a transaction.

you know what they say about making assumptions?

you were the owner of the item, you knew the value of said item, there is no way for the store to know the value unless you DECLARE it. if you do not say you want $800 coverage, you get the default amount $100 basic coverage. it really is that simple, just like you.

you cannot change the terms of the agreement because you failed to make the proper decision and instead assumed something. trust me if the store was told the item was worth $800 they would have sold you the coverage, it is one item they can make a couple of extra dollars in shipping.

and lastly, anything can be damaged in transit. despite best practices and precautions. stores have more experience, supplies, tools and training, but sometimes *** happens. that's why you purchase adequate coverage. duh.

The item was a truck bed cover and it was handed to them to pack. If they couldn't see that it had value and suggest that I purchase insurance then I guess they are blind. You would think they would try to sell me insurance anyway. Free money for them. What agreement are you talking about?
Anyway, I have a letter from UPS corporate stating how bad they packed it plus they have a BBB rating of "F". He is destroying himself.

You have to pay for the insurance in hundred dollar incriments you just "assume" they'll cover it? Some people ship items worth thousands of dollars you need to pay to insure it. *** claim.

Hasn't this complaint been posted before? You still don't understand how insurance works apparently. Take some personal responsibility dude.

Well Barb, you must be a UPS employee because that is the standard answer I keep getting. I doesn't seem to matter that UPS did the packing and handling. A natural assumption would be that the person packing the item would insure their work. They tell me if I packed it then I am responsible. Wouldn't you think the same applies to them, UPS? I never had UPS mention "Declared Value" until the damage was done. If they were professionals they would have gone over my options of protection with me.

Did you purchase $800 worth of declared value on the shipment ?
If so, you have a valid complaint, if not you get the standard $100 coverage amount

Not so, I too asked the clerk in Snellville, Ga. For INSURANCE! No one corrected me nor explained declared value! They should have just said " we have a better idea, how about you just give us $50 bucks and don't insure it and say we did!" Seriously, UPS have blocked me on their Facebook for telling people as often as I can about my experiance. Just as I have just done. But they don't want that on their site. Go to USPS or FedEx.
