This place is a total con, compliments of the tax payer. They lie to the students and their own employees.

This is part of the No Child Left Behind Act. Low income students who attend failing schools are supposedly eligible to receive free tutoring using cell phones and laptops. The thing is, hardly any students actually get the equipment that has been promised to them. I met many disgusted students who refused to sign up because they'd signed up before and never received the items!.

When I asked about this, I was told that the students had probably been dropped". I never did get a clear definition of what that meant'. Also, they tell their employees that they will receive a bonus for every student that they enroll, which is another lie?. Enrollment period lasts for about a month or two, and payday is bi-weekly, so by the time you realize your bonus money isn't coming, tough luck, they've already benefited from your efforts and you can go, they'll just hire more suckers later,.

They told us during training that this program improves the students' performance by at least one letter grade?. I found out that's a lie, too; there is absolutely no proof of that whatsoever/.

So if these people come knocking on your door, don't waste your time!.How this place is still in business is beyond me. 30ad8bf

Every student who enrolls with Tutors with Computers starts with a free cell phone and workbook. Once they have reached a certain point in the program, they receive a netbook or tablet as a second learning tool. Unfortunately, regulations prohibit Tutors with Computers from giving second learning tools to students who do not progress far enough in the program to earn them.

We stand behind our promise to increase students’ reading by one full grade level. Students who use our program increase a full reading level (from 7th to 8th grade level, etc.). In the 2010-2011 school year, we administered the NWEA Measures of Academic Progress (MAP). Our students’ results showed an increase of 1.7 grade levels.

Tutors with Computers also strives to be a great employer. We are resolute when it comes to making sure that our employees are compensated properly for their work. No employee’s request or concern is ignored, and no employee is ever turned away because they had a concern. Any employees who do their due diligence receive everything that has been promised. If an employee ever has any difficulty with this, the issue will be resolved if they go through the proper channels.

We welcome all feedback at Tutors with Computers as we continually strive to be better today than we were yesterday on our way to a world above grade level.

I am always wary of for-profit companies taking public money and vouchers for education. There is no evidence yet that they are better than public schools at educating our children. However, the available evidence suggests that these companies do not even improve a student's learning any better than a public school can do.
