Customer's car's Check Engine light had been blinking regularly, calling for a maintenance check. The customer upon arrival at the Burnsville Tires Plus requested a Fuel System Tuneup, having already diagnosed the problem at another establishment.
Service taker persistently insisted that a Engine Diagnostic Service job was needed, and did not say the pricing until after the two hours it took to complete. Customer was lead to believe that the Engine Service was part of the Fuel System Tuneup.
After the unneeded service was done, Service Taker indicated no pressing engine issue, but recommended a Fuel System Tuneup.Customer was so upset about the issue, they left immediately. 38a911c

A few weeks later had a coupon for an oil changed for our other vehicle and figured why not. They checked the car and told us we needed to replace ALL the tires. We said we can't right now and left. There is a lot of tread left on the back so I know they were trying to give us poor advice to make more money thinking we don't know any better. Won't be bringing my business back here again. I can't trust these people to be honest and helpful.

The store was following proper protocol in regards to the tire placement. The reason for suggesting new tires be put on the rear of the vehicle is for safety. If a vehicle has the best tires on the rear and looses traction due to ice/snow/rain it will slide straight forward. If the best tires are on the front the vehicle has a tendency for the back to slide out and possibly vear off course. However, I apologize that the store was so hesistant to comply with your request. We will gladly put the new tires in front if the customer is already aware of the safety issues it may bring. For the possilibity of unnecessary recommendations we typically like to re-inspect the vehicle with management to determine where in the service things went wrong. If you could email me at social@bfrc.com with the store location and an invoice number I can get the right people involved.
Sincerely,
Tom

My name is Tom and I am with the Tires Plus Corporate Office. I have read through your concerns and would like to see if I can help. I apologize that the service was not completed to your satisfaction. Typically any check engine light work requires engine diagnostics in order to warranty the work. If the work is found to be just as the custoemr suspected, the diagnostic should be discounted. I would like the opportunity to look into this further with either you, or if you have contact with the customer referenced in the above comments. Please message me at social@bfrc.com with the store address and an invoice # or phone # so I can get involved.
Thanks,
Tom
