If my particular version was made correctly it would be a helpful product. They redesigned the grates and changed the plastic, then I bought mine, then they realized their mistake(I have their email to distributors stating this)and changed again. People who were unfortunate enough to buy during that period got completely screwed-told to trim the grates with a power saw(they were too large, also)and otherwise not helped at all. I was promised replacement grates in August which was a lie. Of course the lack of waste is excellent. If the product was properly made and there was any customer service at all, I'd be happy. All I wanted was that lack of waste and the eating speed slowed down(which was achieved, but not by much). They are still eating more than is healthy, but it's less than if I provided a bare bale.

We should get together to fight this scammer(I'm finding others who are in the same boat I am in). The company is also downvoting my report on this site(REALLY classy). I'm involved with the IA Attorney General and they are interested in my case.

I bought 2 Natural Feeders from a local distributor this past summer. They seem to be a safe and effective solution overall... I needed large capacity as the 2 horses using it should eat about 3/4 bale each per day per a nutritionist(my vet agrees). The horses caught on very quickly and like the
feeders(although even with the small , they need to be filled 2-3 times daily each
which is disappointing... they are eating about 2 daily, total). They are a great
combination of hay protection and restriction, while keeping hay available to the horses
24/7, although I did not expect to have to fill them this often(not what I was told).

BUT,
they have undergone redesigns lately, and worse, a change in ownership, and the
new owner is extremely unethical. There was a divorce so of course there is animosity
that shouldn't affect me. My particular feeders came with thinner, weaker, brittle
which started breaking almost immediately. The previous owner promised they would be
replaced just before the change and the new owner gave me and strung me
along for MONTHS. It was suggested that I use a table saw(that I don't have)to cut the dimensions down so it would work better. He does not answer my contacts now; I warned him that if there was no
resolution that I would spread this warning far and wide. Someone at the company was verbally abusive to someone who advocated for me and some distributors are no longer dealing with him. Plus,
instead of 3 , you get only 2 now for the same price. The older style of grates
were much different(I saw them in person)and the really bad ones were only sold for a
short time-he acknowledges that there were failures in the redesign, and these issues
were fixed.

Feel free to contact me for more-after spending almost $900 I expected
better. I have 6 grates that aren't long for the world, and the small ones(the ones I
really need at the moment)are unusable with breaks almost every place possible(I can show
photos). The horses are very gentle with the feeders, never frustrated. It's a shame that
this person did not care about customer service. An ethical company
would have recalled these grates. Visa offered a partial chargeback but I did not want to hurt the distributor who did the transaction.

Mark Olson, the new owner, does business as Power to the Hoof and The Natural Feeder. Beware! 31229c9

I have the natural feeder and it's the best thing ever..... How much your horses eat has NOTHING to do with the feeder.....they never claim that you will only use a certain amount of hay... Apparently your horses eat more.... And you could always put a net around your hay bale, the main thing is that the hay is available and edible ..... The hay stays protected and there is no waste ....

We bought three of these feeders and were very happy at first. But within two months the grates were broken and unusable. We were told that they would replace the grates and that's the last we heard from them. They would not return calls or email. Our distributor had replaced several client grates out of his own pocket but he told me that he was dropping the company because he couldn't get a response from them either.

No response from this company except a scanned, handwritten letter filled with inaccuracies ranging from when I bought the feeders(I have receipts, 3 months later than they say)to an accusation that *I* stopped responding and 'am on a vendetta'. None of my concerns were addressed; it's simply a defensive joke.

Anyone who wants to see it, I'd be happy to provide it for you to read.
