It all started when I filled out an info request form online.I wanted information on how to best deal with back taxes.
Within minutes of filling out the form I got a call from "Shirley" who said she was from the Tax Defense Network and immediately started asking me some very serious personal information. She never asked me if it was a good time or if I could speak. After I tried to speak several times I finally just said I can't talk right now (it was 4:30 and I was wrapping up my day at work). She asked when it would be a good time, I told her then next day from 9:30 - 10:00.
At 9:04 I get a call from another Telephone screener in 904 area code (Jacksonville) (it sounded like a telemarketing boiler room in the background) who again just started asking me questions (zero consideration of my time or availability)...after kicking people out of my office I spoke with her. She started asking me questions about where I was in the process of dealing with the IRS I told her I had never received anything from nor have I ever spoke to the IRS, I just knew I owed back taxes. She went on threw her scripted questions and finally said "I am going to connect you with one of our best senior advisors"...after a long wait this kid comes on with this attitude. I shared with him that when his tele sales team calls they should at least ask if it is a good time to speak in stead of asking such personal questions.
He said their job was to get as much information as possible in the shortest amount of time so they can transfer to a specialist. Anyway, here is where it gets good...I said I don't feel comfortable working in the tele sales model and prefer a more personal approach with someone local. I said I dont have the IRS on my back and don't like their business model. He said look, you may make a lot of money but you owe a lot of money and you're in trouble...REALLY?
OK...TDN is a glorified tele-sales sweat shop, that uses high pressure, fear tactics to bully people. Their so called senior advisors are a bunch of kids with ZERO experience and ZERO consideration for the CUSTOMER.
Run from TDN...unless you like such treatment. You can find local people that you can help you as much, if not more! 2f6fef6
