On February 15, 2013 I visited one of the Subway restaurants. This particular Subway is about two minutes from my house and my family and I frequent this location often.
The store was empty when I came in so Ed, the employee, was ready to take my order. I asked for the Steak and Cheese foot long. Being February I knew that it was on sale for $6. After Ed was done assembling my sandwich, I grabbed a bag of chips and proceeded to check out.
Ed told me the total came to $10.26. After paying with my credit card it dawned on me that the total on my bill was incorrect. I mention this to Ed saying “Shouldn’t my bill be a little lower since my the Steak and Cheese is on sale for $6 this month?” Ed then proceeded to tell me that I had asked for a Philly Steak and Cheese and that this sub was the only foot long that was not on sale. I told him that I had only asked for a Steak and Cheese.
I had never gotten the Philly before knowing that it was way too much food for me. At this point Ed was getting irate. He told me he would remake the sandwich so I agreed. While he was remaking the sandwich he kept saying that he knew I had asked for a Philly.
While raising his voice he said “ Didn’t you see me make your sandwich? Didn’t you see me put all of that extra meat on there?” I responded by saying that since I have never worked at a Subway I had no idea how much meat went on my sandwich. After that Ed was very angry, he began talking about how I had asked for the Philly again saying “I swear on my grave that you asked for the Philly.” At this point I was very upset by the way he was treating me, so I told him that he could forget about remaking the sandwich and just give me my money back. While he was getting the money out of the drawer he told me several times that “There are plenty other restaurants I can take my business too and it wouldn’t bother him!.” Ed handed my money back but before I left I asked who either the manager or the owner was, so I could inform them of this very bad experience".
That’s when Ed informed me that he was the owner of this particular Subway and once again I was told that there were plenty of other restaurants to take my business to,. I left the establishment in tears/. As someone that owns their own business I understand that customer service is the key to any great business'. When mentioning the name Subway, you usually don’t hear any bad experiences".
Unfortunately, if there are owners in the franchise that take it upon themselves to be rude and nasty to customers it can cause you to have a bad name!.
This was probably the worst customer service experience I’ve had by far'.I truly enjoy coming to Subway, but if this is the way an owner will treat you I’d hate to see what the employees are like. 30ea026
