I realize that airlines are all scraping the barrell to survive these days. But, after the experience I just had with my first Spirit Airlines purchase, I hope they crash and burn!.
Spirit has decided to charge $40/flight for a CARRY ON bag/. Not a checked back, not golf clubs, a weekend carry on bag?. So, simple math, and that's +$80 round trip!. And, that's if you check in ahead of time/. They will charge +$50-$100/flight for a carry on at the airport!. They also hit me for +$28 to pick a seat,. So, needless to say, you may find cheaper "air fare" with this airline'. But, at the end of the day, I'd rather pay more $ to fly any other airline than Spirit. They should be ashamed of their customer service. And, I can say, that I will actually applaud the day when I see their bankruptcy notice hit the news.
Never again will I fly this airline. And you shouldn't either. Unless, you like sneeks. I'm expecting they'll want my credit card to turn the air conditioner or light on at my seat on the aircraft as well. Or, maybe there's a fee for them to open the aircraft door to let you get off their scam-craft.
At the end of the day, if the cost was quoted up front, I probably would not care as much. But, waiting until they have customers in their claws, then gouging them...this company should rot. 38b47c0
