We have a service contract with Sears for a Bosch dishwasher we bought there two years ago.In general the service from Sears is at least two weeks out so we have routinely use a local outfit for minor repairs.

The door on the dishwasher recently broke and, anticipating a large repair cost, we finally invoked our Sears service plan. As per our previous experience the first available appointment was two weeks in the future. Although scheduled to come between 8 & 12 the technician did not show until 3:00p. He came armed with nothing more that a screwdriver and flashlight.

After a cursory examination he noted that we needed new parts which would take at least two weeks to arrive. Our second "repair" appointment would be scheduled at that time. Three weeks later the faithful day arrived. We were notified the day before that a technician would be arriving between 8 & 12.

At 11:30 we called to see if, indeed, anyone was coming. We were told that the technician was delayed, would be there soon and would call us. At 3p we called again having not seen the technician or received a call?. Once again, we were told that a technician would be by later and would call/.

6pm and nada|. The next day we called and found that, without notifying us, our appointment had been moved into the future 3 more weeks,. This would put us 2 months out from the original complaint/. In addition, after spending hours on the phone with the customer complaint department, it turned out that there is no technician in our area that is EVER available before 10a and, that we could not change our new appointment time,.

So much for customer service'.

The moral here is that the Sears service plan is little short of an outright SCAM:.DO NOT purchase this agreement!!! 2f85556

I have to laugh. My experience is almost identical. Bosch Dishwasher purchased from Sears... door broke just before Christmas; no dishwasher while we had a house full of company. I have a service contract with Sears, but the earliest they could schedule was one week after Christmas. They tried to pre-ship parts; but when the technician arrived; some parts were missing. So I got another appointment about another 2 weeks out. 3 days before the appointment; I got home from work with calls on my phone that I had "missed" my appointment. I called to re-arrange another appointment; and another 2 weeks.... argghhh!!! The contract isn't worth it. Save the money and call a local, accountable repairman. It isn't worth anything you would save.
