CompanySallie Mae
Location Seattle, Washington

Monetary Loss
$23000

On 1-23-13 at about 11:30 while on a conference I was interrupted by a call from someone the caller said was from my corporate office. When I picked up the phone leaving my conference call the caller identified himself as a collector from sallie Mae.

I informed the caller that we are not allowed personal calls. The caller stated he had the right to call my job.

I informed the caller that I can only verify my employment and for him not to call again. The caller stated he will continue to call and that he had that right. 2f47901

I have a neighbor that apparently owes a company money, and the collection agency called my home saying "we see your are neighbors with ----- I was wondering if you have a cell phone number for them or any other contact number" I ask her what her name was and what State she was in and then, I went off! I told her I pay my bills and I do NOT appreciate her calling my home about someone else's debt! I hung up called the company and spoke to a supervisor and told them to never to call my home again or I will press charges for harassment I pay my bills and do not owe them anything much less to help them get in contact with my neighbor! This is outrageous. Why because I have a landline and live next door to someone who doesn't pay their bills do I get called to help them collect their debt! I told them I hope they never pay them, they don't deserve a dime.

Maybe if you paid your bill they would not call you? Ever think of that?

WHY do people default on their bills then get all bent when someone tries to collect it??

How did one phone call cause to incur $2300.00 in losses? The only way to stop these people from calling is to submit in writing the demand that they cease and desist calling you. Send your demand via trackable method, i.e. fedex or UPS.

Cease and desist ONLY applies to your place of employment. If you owe money they have the legal right to expect and collect payment.
