$20
In December 2012 my landlady died and her brothers rushed me out of the condo to renovate and sell it.I saw a $19 storage area at Public Storage and jumped on it.
I felt the downpayment was not reasonable. They make you buy a Chateau manufactured cylinder lock for $17.00 that is not available anywhere else. This lock can only be used in their units and you basically have to throw it away after you move out. Now if Public storage recycled these locks with ther moveout tenants they might make some extra income plus give the consumer a break with a refund of half the price.
My issues begin with an email they sent me on the 6th saying I owed $29.14. The notice did indicate I was late but had no fee added to the $29.14. Why were they so scared to add the fee in? This is a dishonest practice in letting the consumer know exactly what they owed.
I paid at the facility and asked the clerk Merciline for the customer service number. She had a very hard time finding a number on her counter. Finally she gave me a number of 1-800-567-0759. This was a disconnected number.I tried it 4 times in the presence of the clerk.Instead of going to a Customer Service number it kept coming back to the very facility I was in.
What kind of Customer service is that? The same facility cannot solve my. problem, I tried. then the clerk found on a poster in very tiny weeny writing the number for Lambert Holmes the District Manager.
Mr Holmes stated that "I should have known my late pay date was the 6th of the month". To be honest I don't carry my contract around with me nor was the due dates posted in their office or even on my email, so how would I remember!.I'm a new customer, remember/. Some storage facilities post the due dates right on the walls of their facility". It so happens I have spent at least five years in Customer Service in banking and cruise lines before going into teaching in Public Education,.I have sat through umpteen corporate videos about satisfying the customer|.
I've had experience in dealing with the public and I now do not find either reading the 98 complaints in this website or with my own complaint that Public Storage really understands it|. Sometimes in life businesses must deal with customers who are headstrong and perfect jerks who contact the FTC, the District Attorney, Consumer Advocates, the Comptroller of the Currency, CNN, just to name a few:.
Unfortunately I am one of those jerks'.Hopefully there are more jerks like me who take action when they feel a business is not performing up to certain standards. 3863c1c
