This is actually occured at the Public Storage located in New Orleans, LA Tchoupitoulas St.
I eventually spoke to the District Manager Mr. Mixon, after calling for 2 weeks, he was nice but basically told me I was 'mistaken' (basically saying I was lying) each time I said a thing, even though I assured him I have the call recorded. He said over and over it was a legal sale, that the auctions r public knowledge and he finds it hard to believe I didn't know about it, he didn't mention anything about the insurance claim r the flooding. Mr. Mixon assured me he would get my personal items back to me ASAP. Then he had the manager who was responsible for all of this in the first place, call me. She rudely told me she had left the buyer a note, he was still picking through my unit and had not replied to her note. It has been almost a month now, I have called a few times. Was told there's no time limit on the buyer returning my personal things, whatever that means. My personal data, like Social Security numbers, birth certificates, credit charge receipts, it worries me that those things r still in someone's possession. I do believe it is Public Storage who has not returned my things, not the buyer. Also, since I paid some of the bill unknowingly the day of the auction, I received a final invoice stating the buyer paid the entire bill, so I am also owed money per Public Storages' own records and receipt, I have never received money nor personal items. Absolutely nothing done to correct this situation. Honestly, I am treated so rudely every single time I speak with anyone, its exhausting.

I was delayed in my payment because my entire unit was water soaked from a roof leak, upon telling the staff the reply was 'hope u have insurance', as she walked away. I then requested someone go inspect the leak and asked if I could just log what was in the unit for insurance purposes, they then tell me I stored at my own risk and wasn't their problem. It was VERY CLEAR to me that they fully knew about the leak when I rented the unit, no one ever asked what happened, r was cared r had the leaky roof inspected. I also had a terrible rat and roach infestation at the unit. It was clearly from the building, there were rat traps everywhere!.
Most shockingly, I spoke to a women on December 3rd, (recorded the phone conversation, btw) and was asked when I could pay, I asked if next Fri, the 14th was ok, she checked, said 'NO problem, its not at risk for auction after the 13th, we will see u Fri morning, thank u so much have a great day/. I paid a good faith payment on the 11th, Apparently AFTER THEY HAD ALREADY AUCTIONED MY UNIT!! Which I only found out about when I called them on13th,. If I was told, I would have paid,.
I think?.its a HUGE coincidence that my unit was auctioned in the middle of an insurance claim!! I had a payment plan, I voluntarily made early payments and they auctioned it off in complete violation of the plan after accepting my payments!!
Never, never use this place?. Staff nice to ur face while they twist the knife in ur back/.
I have also left messages with the District Manager John Mixon, a full 24 hrs ago, I still awaits a response!!
I have 4 kids, baby pics, their baby books, not to mention confidential info was in there?.I fear identity thief now. 387b1ae
