Public Storage - Burglarized with no sympathy

We are a military family who just got burglarized at Public storage in Carson CA they were not helpful or sympathetic and worst of all they have no security or cameras.We realized something was wrong when we went to get some of our stuff put and it was not our lock.

We returned the next day and had to wait 3 hrs for the manager to come and break the lock. Over $3,000 in merchandise was stolen including tv's, and my husbands army gear. I just think other tenants should be notified as well. We are struggling trying to get back on our feet after my husband just recently became inactive.

This was devastating especially when your personals were taken.Please help us get our story out to others. 30c8c03

Our organization recommends that you immediately make an inventory, it can be by memory, and report this to the police immediately. Also, file the insurance immediately. If your husband still has ties to the military, the JAG could be your best reporting. If you were forced to buy Public Storage Insurance, or the company recommended by Public Storage we also recommend finding out if the Willis Firm is liscensed to sell insurance in your state. If not, report to your attorney general. The company which will probably contact you will be named Sedgwick CMS; be very leary of them. Rather, find out if New Hampshire Insurance is the underwriter. If so, send a letter to them formally requesting that they send an insurance claim adjuster directly from their firm. Cooperation with Sedgwick will be necessary, but is reported as being difficult to obtain compensation. Do not delay, the "they's" in the Public Storage organization like to play games and use every method available to deny claims. An attorney is also recommended under many circumstances. We also recommend trying to remember if the wall was damaged between units, or the door lock is either a padlock or in locking unit lock. Add this information to the police report.
