My wife and I were in Petsmart #50 on Watt Ave.in Sacramento, CA this evening.

At 7:35pm we observed a Petsmart groomer handling a small black dog very rough! We told another Petsmart employee what we had observed... his response was that, "the dog was being difficult and that he would speak to her about it." He did nothing!!! Asked to speck to the Store Manager.

Told Paulina what we had observed and wanted to speak the main Store Manager or District Manager. Was told that they were both at a meeting in Florida and could not be reached.

She told us that she would look at the video.Seems like Petsmart is not very concerned with the well being of your pet!!! 304d2a5

I have to sit on my dog, forcibly pin her to the ground and muzzle her when I clip her nails. No harm is actually coming to her, and a lot more harm would come to me if I didn't do that. What you see and what the dog is experiencing are two completely different things. You have to ask yourself, is there any actual physical harm being done? Try grooming a dog some time. You have to do things that could be misconstrued as cruel, but are necessary tasks to ensure your pet remains healthy and well taken care of.

Really ... what you see and what is really going on is two different things. Its not EASY grooming a dog that is trying to bite at you. Not all dogs like being groomed, not all are nice either. No groomer likes being bit and it happens. Not all dogs are cute fluff balls full of love. They can be nastier than you think. They have to protect themselves, if they allow the dog to be difficult the dog can get injured and the groomer can be bitten. All dogs need grooming even if they are bad.

have you ever tried grooming a dog that didnt want to be groomed?
you know that most of the things that look like abuse are actually tried and true techniques of restraint? you get taught that your first day on the job before you even take your certification test at petsmart.
oh you didnt know that you dont even touch a dog until about the third week youre employed by them and until youve taken and passed, with a score of 100%, a safety certification test?
oh you think a dog struggling and fighting with a groomer is a sign of abuse?

the SPCA is going to laugh in your face.
